| Admin/Owner ![]() | my girlfriend whose 12 weeks along (i think) told me the other day that one of the older guys (50+) at her office came up to her and said she was glowing and was wondering if she was "with child"... she said that was the term she liked hearing the most out of all of them (kinda made her proud I guess?) she's heard preggers, pregnant, pg, el prego, bun in the oven and now "with child" etc... what term did you guys like the most and/or what term did you like the least? (silly question, i know! but humor me haha) |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | Some more would be "in the family way", "expecting", "preggie", "growing blessings", oh I am sure there are at least ten more. Most are pretty cheesy. I think "expecting" is probably the one I use the most. I do not know why but "pregnant" sounds so medical like saying "vagina" instead of "mommy parts" or "hoohoo" something. ![]() |

| These threads are bringing back many good (and some bad) memories! I have to agree with Michelle. The term "expecting" was so much better than "pregnant". |

| For some reason I really hated the term 'preggo'. Preggo is a brand of spaghetti sauce, not a term for someone having a baby! Just a personal pet peeve I guess 8) . My "preferred" term was probably -expecting-. When we were telling people the news, we would say "We're gonna have a baby!". Then there's the always popular term 'knocked up' ![]() |

| I prefer "expecting" or "we are gonna have a baby". For some reason "pregnant" always made me think of the sex part! And my pet peeve is when people say "we are pregnant". For some reason that just drives me crazy especially when a guy says it. Makes me want to look to see if HIS stomach is swelled yet! |

| Admin/Owner ![]() | funny....yeah - just tell them that you want to switch your tummy for theirs! haha I think i'd do the "his little swimmers got me knocked up, it's all HIS fault"...that way, he can't say nothing when i'm complaining about it all! of course - not that we're expecting.. but if we were, i think it'd be kinda funny for our friends to hear! esp since we're not expecting to have ANY kiddos... |
