| Just in case anyone was curious, I thought i'd post how Emily came into our world. Eric was originally awarded two weeks of vacation, but at the very last minute (the middle of his first week), his second week was revoked due to lack of pilots. That would mean that Eric would have to be back to work on May 30th. So I had my 40week appt. and I said "if I don't have this baby before monday, he'll be gone again". The doc said well, let's do a NST (because the baby hadn't moved that whole morning) and see how that comes out. Well, she flunked it (barely) and the doc said "Let's induce.... TODAY!!" I was a little surprised, but I think she knew if we scheduled it, i'd worry about it for days. So off to the hospital we went.... We got to the hospital and 10:00am and by 10:30am I was on Pitocin. About 2:45 the next morning I began dilating (finally). Then the contractions started. I had an epidural put in. I told the doctor and all the nurses, and of course Eric, that I loved them About 5:00pm I was fully dilated and began pushing. I pushed for over two hours. She was a 0 station. By that time I had been on the Pitocin for approx. for 33hrs. The doc said I was pushing really well, but she couldn't tell which way the baby was facing because of the hair. She had another doc check me and she concurred that they couldn't tell. At this point I begged for a c-section. They were going to increase my epidural and the nurse said "I need to take the catheter out" I said "can you wait til they up my epidural?" She said no. They took me to the O.R. and that's when they realized that the epidural wasn't working very well on one side and I could feel some pain. My blood pressure shot up to 175 and all the doc's were worried. I was shaking uncontrollably. They finally finished the surgery and took me to recovery where my blood pressure and heart rate still soared. I had a ton of doc's and nurses around me poking me (I had three i.v. lines put in) and people pushing on my stomach (I was anemic and had lost an excessive amount of blood during surgery). I was crying and begging for pain relief and never really got any. Anyway... that's our story. It was the hardest, scariest, worst experience of my life... and if someone said to me "You have to do that 10 more times if you want to keep her" I would say "How soon can we start!!" I love her more than life itself. Thanks for reading... Tanya and Emily |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | What an ordeal! I know what you mean by "how soon can we start". It's so funny what we would go through for our children, especially when we wouldn't do it for our spouses lol!! It's just a whole different kind of love! I hope you are still doing well and getting rest! |

| My DH works for Shuttle America. Just about everyone's vacations were revoked this year (they're famous for it). They tried to revoke his first week before it started and also asked him if they could "buy it back". Of course he said "no way". This company is pretty amazing. They actually junior manned a guy on his honeymoon once. They treat their employees like crap. DH can't wait to move on. The recovery is coming along alright. I have some pain on my right side that my doctor seems concerned about so I have to go back early next week and she said that I may have to see a cardiologist due to the fact that my pulse was still high as of yesterday (175). Other than that, all's well. Emily is starting to sleep longer which is giving DH and I a little break!! I swear she was laughing in her sleep last night. She is the funniest thing!! Tanya |

| How's your temperature? If it's running high you could have the start of an infection. Best to get it checked out. I remember having quite a bit of tenderness for probably a good 4 weeks. The incision area itself is still numb, and can remain that way for up to a year. I couldn't sleep on my stomach for about 3-4 weeks. That paci in your picture is making me jealous. I wish Brandon would take one. He's colicy and screams all the bloody time. A paci would probably help, but he wants nothing to do with one! |

| Luckily I don't have a fever, but I think my doc might be concerned about a possible blood clot or hemmorage. The pain i've been having on the right is a really sharp, deep, intense pain. But it's getting a little better so i'm hoping it's gone by my appt. next week. I hear ya about the paci. Thank GOD for it. I was hesitant to use it at first, but now I love it. When you're exhausted, it's amazing how many things you'll let slide Now if we can just get her to stop cluster feeding. Have a good night (or should I say morning) Tanya |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | The only way I know of to stop the cluster feeding is making them wait. I did it with Kyla at 2 weeks because she was eating for about 5 minutes every half hour. So I held her and soothed her as long as I could drag it out and gradually worked her into 2.5 hours, after that it was fine, took a day to do it. |
