| Hi out there ladies, Is anyone out there over 35 or 40 raising a baby or toddler? I currently have a 2.5 year old and am trying for another (with some minor fertility treatments which worked with my first). I'm finding that I can't find many women my age that are pregnant, with a baby or toddler. What gives? The statistics say you are out there. But where? Debbie |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | Here is a message board for TTC after 35 http://talk.sheknows.com/forumdispla...ne=-1&f=32 and TTC after 40 http://talk.sheknows.com/forumdispla...ne=-1&f=33 (Not that I am trying to send you away from this board! I hope that wasn't bad etiquette! It's just that I know there will be more people there cause I don't know think anyone here is in your shoes unless ***someone*** changes her mind ) |

| Admin/Owner ![]() | Funny Michelle... Nope, no mind changing as of yet! I'm currently taking care of a 20 yr old parent (constantly making changes without my knowledge blah blah blah) and that's enuff for me right now. With kathy (my sister) & 6 mo old having difficulties, i doubt i could tackle having both a 20 yr old parent AND a baby at the same time - it'd drive me more insane than i already am. that idea is put on indefinate hold! but if things did change, then i'd definately be considered an "over 35 mom"! and since we don't have any over 35/40 yr old mom's in house, which i'm pretty sure we don't...your etiquette Michelle is just fine! | Thanks for the info Michelle. Like I said, I think we are far and few inbetween. I'll check out that board. But I'm not leaving this one. LOL! Everyone keeps telling me I'm nuts, but I'm still going to try. My husbands mother who is now 83 and in excellent shape was born when HER mother was 42, so I guess there is hope for me - maybe. | I'm an over 35 mom--LOL! Seriously, I was hard giving birth at 30. I cannot imagine starting at 35. But we do what we gotta do! By the way, I would not have missed those years for the world. I guess I must be getting to nature's grandmom's years because I'm starting to think about the benefits of Evan getting settled, married and having kids. I have terrific memories!!!!!!!!!!!! |

| Admin/Owner ![]() | I can imagine that it'd be more difficult as you get older..just the physical aspects more than the mental. but i don't think your nutz Debbie! and if it isn't mean to be - adopting is always an option (at least that's how i see it) |

| My daughter is only 2.5 and I'm already worried if I'll be around for my grandchildren. Never thought I would be worrying about that! My advice to her will be to have children young (if she is ready of course). I'm exhausted at the end of the day. Though it's all worth it and I love my daughter dearly. Now if I can get her a sibling to play with . . . Debbie |
