Default All the babies are done being born...

in my section of the world!

My girlfriend Rosa had her baby on Sunday at 6:14pm...a 6lb 12oz baby boy by the name of Elijah Michael.. he's a pretty handsome little guy! she had contractions for about 12 hrs and only pushed 3 times to get him out!

I'll put up some photos soon.

doug's starting to catch on that i may want my own sometime in the near future (before i get toooooo old)...and it still freaks him out.. says he's not scared of babies but of how babies change the entire lifestyle...

funniest thing i've heard all week was "your cut off cuz you have baby sprinkles alloverya!" hehehehe it's funny, but true cuz your just like "awwwwww..... what a cutie, i could have me one of those" hahaha

I plan on doing a lot of watching and learning since she's so close to home here....

Yes your lifestyle changes. But, you suddenly realize that you are not all that important! It's a great feeling. Being a part of their wonder at things we take for granted...Helping them see the way to solve their own problmes...Watching them succeed...Helping them overcome failure...Then when they crash the car and bring girls home....

Roz is absolutely right!! From the very first doc's visit, when I saw the baby on the ultrasound and it was waving/moving around I was absolutely, totally in love!!

I spent the first three months being scared about all the changes that will happen in our lives. The feedings, the responsibility, etc., but now I have relaxed about it and I can't wait!!

I got a $200 gift card from my MIL for Xmas and she said "spend it on YOURSELF". Well, I bought a baby stroller with it. I was sooo excited!! I understand now why my mom likes buying things for me and not herself. Doing things to take care of my baby (in the future) makes me feel good.

Roz is right - i'm not all that important!!

I'm sure you and Doug will feel the same way - and be thrilled about it!!

Take care,

Tanya

What stroller did ya get? I hated the first stroller I bought. I ingnored the online reviews and bought the one that the car seat we got hand-me-down from Bill's sister clipped onto. It steered like a truck, and was just awful in so many ways. I finally gave up on it and splurged on a Peg Perego. It was the best $ I've spent in ages.

I may eBay the old one, or wait until little baby is out of the carrier, I dunno.

Here's the link to the stroller we've picked out:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/det...4#more-pictures

DH felt the baby kick for the first time on New Year's Eve. About 10 min. to midnight I could feel the baby moving around and put his hand on my belly. He hadn't really been able to feel it before, but we kept trying... sure enough the baby gave him (and me) and good hard kick!! It was soooo cool. But now I am able to really feel it kicking. He/She is so active!!

We also had our ultrasound on Dec. 30th (DH's birthday). The baby was moving around like crazy. The technician said that everything looks great!! All 10 fingers and toes, the spine looks good - the heart looks "excellent" as she put it. We're so happy!! She did say that my placenta was a little low and thought they might have me back later to check it to make sure it doesn't get too close to the cervix, but for now it's fine.

I'm also really starting to show now. I love it. I'm wearing maternity clothes finally!! So far I love being pg. It's had it's moments of displeasure - but for the most part it's been smooth sailing.

So are you two going to find out what the gender will be or keeping it a surprise?

We want to wait til it's born to find out! Our parents hate that - but oh well.

I have a feeling it's a boy though. Time will tell.

Smiles,

Tanya

I like how you worded that, Tanya! That you 'want to wait til it's born to find out'.

I HATE when people say 'We want it to be a surprise'. Because it's a surprise at the moment you find out, NO MATTER WHEN THAT MOMENT IS!

We chose our moment to be at an u/s, you're choosing your moment to be at the birth! Don't sweat the parents, it's YOUR baby, you find out when YOU want to!
