| Jetgirls Member | Hi everyone and Happy Holly Daze! :hand out gifts: I haven't posted in a while because we've been busy here w/ the holidays, etc. I'm posting b/c I would like to know if anyone here has a child or a close family member diagnosed w/ Sensory Integration Dysfunction or the new term SPD. Jack, DS (2/11/02) was recently diagnosed w/ such and we are going through speech therapy and occupational therapy. ST has been wonderful. He's progressing by leaps and bounds. OT is slow going due to staff turn over and the fact that it's just plain hard for Jack. Anyone experiencing the same? I'd love to know. It's always nice to have someone to talk to about such things, especially when you're a part time single parent! Meanwhile, on the ATA front, SW and AirTran are the only two bidders. No one is too thrilled at the choices. Pilots' stop choice was America West but they opted not to bid. Situation stinks but we're still keeping our fingers crossed for a Christmas miracle! Happy holidays to all! |

| I don't know about the medical issue, but is DH going to the AirTran meet and greet on Monday? I hear it is for MDW based ATA pilots only. I hear it is at MDW from 9 AM to noon and 2 PM to 6 PM. Here's information on the AirTran interview process: http://www.willflyforfood.cc/Airtran.htm AWA doesn't have any money to buy an airline. Some things happen for a reason. Both SWA and AirTran are planning to grow a lot next year. So there will be hiring opportunities. For SWA it would give it access to DFW without having to spend any money for gates, personnel, etc. For AirTran, they would open MDW as a new market. What I don't understand is that ATA's slots at LGA and DCA are not grandfathered slots that U and NWA, etc have which the government has allowed to be leased and sold. So how can they "sell" them? The FAA has already warned that these would be taken back and put out to bid to all airlines. |
