| Admin/Owner ![]() | Ok, So I added this new forum to give the soon-to-be, wannabe, and current mother's out there a place to congregate and talk about their pregnancie(s), kids and so forth... This will also benefit me since my sister is now 12 weeks pregnant and I really wanna know the type of stuff she's going thru and that baby's going thru - always been interested, just don't think I'll have any of my own because DH doesn't want them (yet?)... he isn't particularily kid friendly, so i've pretty much grown accustomed to the fact that we probably won't have kids and i'm ok with that since my age is creeping higher and higher and I'll be 35 this year (when they start testing amnio for downs)... when i was younger, I always told myself 35 was my "stop date" because of the risk factors... but there's always possibility that we may adopt later on - who knows.. so I keep an open mind on a daily basis! 8) but since my sister's pregnant, i'm really excited and interested in learning all about it, hearing other's stories and helping her out with her first child and keeping her excited thru the really piss poor days etc... so, I've been doing some research and found a product called babybeat that is an ultrasound device that you can use at home to hear the baby's heartbeat from 9-10 weeks on.. i'm thinking she might like it, but wanted to get some opinions from anyone who may have used it or another device like it.. whether it was worth the rental or not (yup, you can rent these for the months your pregnant, and then send the unit back)... Since my sister is the only one (besides DH) that i can spoil, i'm gonna spoil her during this pg - so, any info would be mighty helpful!! :-) My plan - a fun, normal pregnancy for her with a few added extra's that our mom didn't get to have/do or what not.... |
