| Admin/Owner ![]() | yup, my sister is a few weeks early.. baby is 36 weeks now, but fully developed and has decided it wants OUT! so kathy's water broke just a trickle yesterday and she thought it was just baby pushing on her bladder...went in to see the doc today and they put her right into a room. unfortunately, it's not the delivery she wanted to do. She wanted a midwife, water birth, no drugs etc... but she just moved up to orlando and hadn't yet found a new midwife. so she's at the hospital and they put her on antibiotics since the water already broke some. I told her to get on those nurses and have them help her situate herself so she can walk around or get in the shower or what not cuz otherwise she's laying there horizontal dealing with the pain and that just doesn't help baby come into the world any.... nurses said they were going to put pitocin into her pretty soon to induce labor...which i'm not too keen with cuz the more drugs, the higher probability of a C-section. so we'll see what happens...i should know something tonight or tomorrow YAY!! I'm gonna be an aunt! Whoo HOO |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | How exciting! That's about how I went into labor-only I was only 4 days early. But it was a trickle, and then the "made" me do pitocon which meant I pretty much had to have an epidural, which meant laboring flat on my back for hours. I hope she has a better experience than that! |

| Admin/Owner ![]() | actually, it looks like she's headed in that direction Michelle... they hooked her up to a fetal monitor and now she's "stuck" playing horizontal mommy.. we all know babies work on gravity.. how come nobodys come up with a portable fetal monitor yet for these women? i mean.. walking around, taking a shower etc could really change the entire experience and make it more pleasant! she said they were going to start her on pitocin pretty soon and then she'll probably end up having the epi even though she wants to stay "natural"...you know, doctors have their way of saying "you need this" when you really don't want it. | Jetgirls Ol' School Member | That's a bummer! So what's the update? Everything go ok last night? There is no reason for them to give pitocin so early! They told me I had to have the baby within 24 hours cause my water broke-well fine, let's labor naturally for at least 10 or so and see where we are, don't ya think?? Women go from 3 cm to 10 in less then a few hours ALL THE TIME, but they didn't even give me a chance and it sounds like they did the same to her! And I DID have a midwife-this wasn't a Dr. Anyway, didn't mean to go off. How is she? How is the baby? Can't wait to hear more! |

| Admin/Owner ![]() | she went thru a normal delivery last night and did decide to go with the epi (just cuz the pain was so bad in her hips because of the pitocin).. but at 5:51am, a beauty of a baby girl (with a tuft of brown hair) came into the world at 6lb 4oz. her name is Julia Marie Heard. I should be getting photos sometime soon! I FOR SURE thought it was a boy! she carried like a boy the entire time.. what a sneaker!!
