Default To those of you with more than one child

I have a question for you guys about the second pregnancy. How soon do you typically "outgrow" your normal clothes and then how long until you are in maternity clothes.

I seem to be hungry NON STOP and although I haven't gained any weight yet, my jeans seem to be a little tight, but I'm not anywhere near ready for my maternity clothes yet.......

any thoughts on this?

I really had to break out the maternity clothes with ds#2 at around 12 weeks which was much earlier than with ds#1. I evened out at the end and didn't end up being any larger, just started to show alittle earlier. I can remember having to wear larger clothes as soon as 8 weeks.

I am the winner, lol--at 5 weeks I couldn't do my pants up. I had some pants that were a size larger but they ripped in the bum so I bought some demi panel jeans and khakis, and they were quite comfy and lasted until about 4 months, when I went to full panels. I had gained like 5 pounds in week 4-5, but then I didn't gain anything else for almost 2 months. But then I gained ten pounds in one month. So much fun isn't it? Ok, my mom is getting married when I'll be 9 weeks....I have NO IDEA what to wear. I guess I'll just have to go shopping right before the wedding so I know what size I'll be. It doesn't sound like I'll be in maternity clothes yet, but I'm sure nothing I own right now will fit..

I'd say nothing will fit by 9 weeks, not comfortably anyways. Your idea sounds like the best thing, go shopping for something right before the wedding. You might could get something now that's just lose fitting around the abdomen.

I'm 14 weeks, and I last wore my 'regular' jeans at 8 weeks. My fat pants still fit, though they're big in the legs so they look funny.

I'm still not really big enough to properly fill out maternity clothes without looking silly and/or having them fall off. But I'm getting close.

I had to unbutton my pants with Emily (2nd) at 4 weeks and popped out with her much quicker than with Alex. With him I really didn't even look pg until 6mos. I was in maturnity clothes with Emily by 4mo. Everyone is different, but everyone I know got bigger quicker with their 2nd too.

Some good news too, everyone I talked to and myself had much easier going deliveries with 2nd kiddos too. As far as recovery and all. So you have that to look forward to too! :-D

So Happy For You!!

If you need something for a wedding, I'd get a dress or a skirt with a long top and you will be just fine! I could still fit into most of my skirts and dresses up to about 16 weeks. It's just things that button on the tum that are a problem.

Now that I think of it, I have a black skirt that will fit....I'll just have to find a longer top to wear with it. AW Shucks....I was looking forward to going shopping, too!!! Bummer!
