I looked and couldnt find it......Our ped got them in (the reg flu shot not the swine flu shot) and was wondering if we should get it for Liam. I do get my kids the regular flu shot, and now I am just waiting to get them the H1N1 shot when it comes in.

I have not given Jack a flu shot (not this year or last year) and I won't be getting him the swing flu shot either (I just don't feel comfortable with a new vaccine yet). He is not in daycare.

No flu shots here either. We're not really comprimised at all (although I worry some about the boys' low weight and not having the resources to fight off a secondary infection) so I think we'll take a pass.

My oldest is getting the regular flu shot, due to his transplant. It was suggested that he does the swine flu one, but I don't feel comfortable with this at all. I was also told to make sure that I don't give him the live one (nasal spray).

Yeah, we have been thinking on passing on it as well. I'm a little confused because my father in law ( the ped) recommended we get both flu shots for Liam and I guess I just don't want to be looked at as irresponsible. Why do I always worry about what other people think??? Geeze
oh,btw, bill asked me, since it would not be the live virus anyway, are there really any risks at all????

The main risks are the additives in the vaccines, as far as I know...

That's all I've heard and read, too. The only difference in the two vaccines is the strain of virus.

Babies new flu shots, the only additives are in the multi vivle doses, which are not common any more. the only difference in the swine and flu shot is the strain. Just like the seasonal flu changes every year to better match the the strian that they believe that is going to be that year.

if your baby goes to the grocery store, then they are at risk. if you go to the store your baby is at risk. If your husband is a pilot and sits in a cockpit were they touch everything that the guy before him did, your baby is at risk.

H1n1 is much harder on those who are under 5, 2 and under is a VERY high risk, and under 6 months is VERY,VERY,VERY risky, death risky. these are healthy babies, not those with health issues.

seasonal flu is not as hard as the h1n1 on little ones, howeve the CDC believes that 36,000 people die from the flu every year, so it may not be your child that dies, but it could be your child's germs on the shopping cart that gets the grandma down the street. guilt trip I know, but the more people out there who aren't spreding it, the fewer the people who wont get it, which eqaul less deaths. It may not be your mom or dad or grandma/grandpa but it's someones.

"guilt trip" my BUTT
who are you trying to scare--I really don't understand your post.

...then every piece of mail and every dollar you touch needs to be sanitized--every item you touch at that grocery; who knows who already touched it and put it back??

paraphrasing a famous lyric:
"every breath you take; I'll be infecting[sic] you"

maybe our husbands should be quarantined before they re-enter our space after a flight rotation?

what?? stay home in a bubble?
you cannot immunize yourselves from the world's diseases nor the world from yours
take proper precautions
fear-mongering is irresponsible
