| Jetgirls Plus Member ![]() | My future sis-in-law is becoming a single mommy on October 18. Was invited to her baby shower in a few weeks. Problem is, her registry is packed with super pricey items. Although I'd love to buy alot for her, I don't have alot of money. I thought of putting together a big basket with things like diapers, bath products, and maybe a cute bib and a blanket. Any mommys out there have any better ideas? I'd like to throw in a little something for her. I like the idea of giving her a gift thats just for her, even though this is all about the baby. I want to also acknowledge that she's becoming a mother. |

| These are my favorite things to get: pacifiers, diapers, wipes, and a board book. I really don't like getting clothes and I am picky on the softness of baby blankets. Why I don't like clothes is because everyone has different taste. For me, my babies wear just sleepers and onesies for the first 6 months (except for sunday church). Other people change their baby's outfits 2ce daily use because they like putting them in cute outfits. Everyone is different, on the otherhand, who can't use diapers? For the mommy, how about some nice foot lotion or something like a gift certificate for a pedicure, since she probably can't see her feet right now? If you can't afford a bunch, you could go in with another person or two and fill up a basket with things that are small. Travel wipes are great (use huggies 1 off coupon) and get them free or very cheap at walmart. Johnson buddy soaps are 99 cents and there are always coupons out there for 1 off johnson' products. Sometimes you can find coupons from ebay for 20 coupons for 2 dollars. So, you would pay 2 dollars and get 20 dollars worth of products. Someone gave me a baby bath and filled it up with bath products. I thought that was a cute idea. Oh, balmex would go along with a diaper basket. Have you ever seen a diaper cake? Those are adorable. Just do a google image search on diaper cakes. They are made by putting diapers together to look like cakes. Hope this helps |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | I ditto the pedicure, I would have loved to get that! For an inexpensive but unique gift, I've made a baby keepsake box by decopaging a box with really cute papers and embellishments. You can put the baby's name on it if you know it, or use the nursery colors. The name and date could also be added later. I put a list inside of all the things that could go in the keepsake box, like hospital id tags, ultrasound pictures, lock of hair, baby bracelets, engraved baby spoon or bronzed baby shoes, letters to baby from grandparents, blessing/christening outfits, pictures of the house and area baby grew up in, things like that, that will be fun to look at over and over. |

| do you live near her?? at one of my showers, one friend, gave me a night out...with the expectation that i would use it. she would routinely call and check to make sure that i "used" her gift. it was nice knowing that i had a FREE night to use. you could send her out for a pedicure and babysit! in addition, a basket with book(s), burp cloths, diapers (i'm iffy on this one - given that everyone diapers differently - cloth/brand of diaper), socks, onesies, towels, washcloths, etc. would make a nice gift as well.

| with her being a single mom, I don't think you could go wrong with diaphers. We got enough to last most of my leave and it was so nice not to have the added expense. If you know she isn't breast feeding bottles. You can't believe how many of those you go through. Also they have son mother to son. mother to daughter jurnals books, I have one for Trayton I love it. it goes much deeper than "when you first smiled" if I can get it finished I think that it will be a neat gift to him some day.

| I loved, loved, loved my ninth month spa day. If you can pull it off, it is the best treat. It was just what I needed to get me down the home stretch. The only problem was that I couldn't go the full hour without peeing, I had to keep running to the bathroom!
