Well...I have a 10 year old Boy and two of my girls are more around Trayton's age. They are 8 and 6. Let me know. I know that any one of my kids would love to write to a new friend.

I have an almost 6 year old boy, his handwriting isn't great, but this might be good practice! It is a great idea, let me know!

what a great idea! letter writing is a lost art--in this day of email etc--at any age it's so good to encourage kids to write, scribble, whatever. I have no children but grew up reading and writing all the time (hey, we were poor, no tv or money--what could I do?? We had a library and I got staionery for gifts--what a valuable part of my upbringing!)

I agree, it is a lost art! My children "write" to their grandparents in TX and love when they receive mail.

Trayton gets email from various cousins ect.., but nothing matches his excitment when he gets something in the mail.

Lance is starting to send him post cards, and we signed him up for the free lego mag.

but I aslo thought it would be good to get him to read and write over the summer. When I get a chance prob. tonight I will PM you ladies our addresses and see what we can get started!

Hi, Janet. Gabriel is 7, almost 8. He loves when I get the lego magazine in the mail, and he also likes it when I get the oriental trading catalog and the birthday express catalog. This might help increase the mail that he gets. : )

There use to be a magazine called backyard science that was pretty good.
