Default Big Belly?

Ok,,, I am 18 weeks along,,, and I swear, by the looks of my belly, I feel like Im about 6 months pregnant! I am an identical twins and I wonder how possible it would be for me to be having twins? Bill would be so happy, cause he wants twins,,, but whoa! That sure would be a lot of work,, but I guess if my mom did it, so can I? I guess we will find out on monday,,,,Oh btw,,, I have gained weight no where else on my body except for my belly, as a matter of fact, Im still not back up to my pre-pregnancy weight cause I lost 9 pounds being so sick the first trimester...so I wonder if its possible that Im carrying twins?

Hmmm- that would be exciting!
Although from what I know about twins, don't they skip a generation? Meaning your children have a greater chance of having a twin? I remember hearing that somewere...

If I remember correctly you have already had an u/s or 2 right? If so, more than likely they would have seen twins then....but I guess one could have been hiding!

i'm really hoping to have twins (if/when i have kids)! I think it'd be a lot of fun - plus being scared to death of being pg/giving birth having to only go through it once seems kinda nice!

I would think if you were having twins, and you have already had any ultrasounds, they would have detected it then.

I am jealous about only gaining weight in the belly. I get very sick, but I eat to make myself not so nauseous. Then, I end up gaining a bunch of weight...although, I have lost 30 pounds so far!

I would like twins one day (not for many years), but my first ob said that with how sick I get with one, she suspected that my body and my mind wouldn't be able to handle a twin pregnancy. She said in her opinion, I would be just too sick. BUT, I have a friend that just had twins. It was her 2nd pregnancy. She felt worse with her first than she did with her twins...just really uncomfortable at the end of her pregnancy, and less nausea than her first pregnancy. So, who knows?

Well why don't you post a belly pic so we can see for ourselves?

my SIL our twins, and my MIL says all the time that she would have a hundred of lances (my DH) if she didn't have to go throw the twins. of course they all love them to death, but they were hard and very naughty! so be carefull what you wish for!

but I would be more than happy to fly STevie down to SLC and rent her out to you and John, that way you would get a good feel of what one is like, (plus it would be enough birth control to last a year!) and I will get a nice hotel and get a good night sleep! then if you still wanted twins we could call michelle and bring her little one over and you guys could have a hay day! hehehe and we will go shopping with the money that we don't have!

I know from your other post that you already know it is not twins, but I was pregnant with identical twins when I miscarried, so I read a lot about twins. From what I understand, identical twins are random, so being an identical twin does not increase the chances of having twins. With fraternal twins, you have an increased chance. Also, if you have one set of fraternal twins (or multiples of any size) your chance of having them again in future pregnancies also increases.
