Default 11 weeks along and counting....

Well, thurday, I called me Dr's office complaining of some pretty bad dizziness and migranes that tylenol didnt seem to be helping with. They asked if I could come in on my lunch break so they could check me out. Seems that when I stood up vs sitting down my BP would drop 20 points on both numbers,, that's what wa causing the dizziness... he said losts of fluid and small meals throughout the day. He also did some bloodwork that turned out fine. BUT, one thing that he did do that I was not expecting was a doppler to hear the babys heartbeat. The first and only other apt that we have had at this point was 5 weeks ago and ofcourse we did not get to hear it then. BIll was at home, I told him not to worry about meeting me there, and so he missed it! I was so sad about this cause had I known that they were going to do this I could have had Bill meet me there. I cried and cried when I heard it, it was so,,,,,,,,,, unbeleiveable! So sureal! Unexplainable,,, it still is. I still cant beleive that I have this human inside me with this hearbeat and everything,,,,, We have another regualr apt next week, our 12 week apt with an ultrasound. Hopefully Bill can hear the heartbeat then.

That sounds wonderful. I just went to see a good friend's newborn on Thursday. He was so little and beautiful. I think I am almost old enough to have one (in a few years). Enjoy the time your pregnant! From what i've heard its an amazing experience

aww Jo! That's awesome! I was just wondering how you were doing yesterday. I'm so glad you're keeping the updates going. I like hearing about this!
Also, I know it's really sad that Bill missed it, but try not to feel too down. You're going to have lots of appointments and he can be there for those. Just think how great it will be when you get to SEE your baby for the first time on the screen AND hear its little heartbeat.

Congratulations!!! I know how exciting it is to finally hear the hb! You'll hear it at every appt. now so don't worry, DH has plenty of time to hear it himself.

Enjoy this special time with your baby. It's just you and he/she and I know I cherished my time with Emily and Molly in my womb... that was our time together and it makes the bond so strong.

Smiles!

Thats great news!!!

It is an amazing feeling to hear the heart beat and to see them on an U/S. Those times always put a huge smile on my face....esp when it was the first u/s and/or first time hearing their heat beat with each child. But, I'm sure they will do the doppler from here on out at each appt. You two will get lots and lots of chances to hear that little heart beating.

I thought about you the other day, and i was hoping that the sickness is getting easier for you. Maybe in a few more weeks it will, but at least you are having some good days.

I am used to going to appointments without hubby, so the first time they did a 4-d or 3-d (whatever it is), he missed it. It was so amazing! The ultrasound person did it as a favor to me, but I think it is worth the extra money to see. My son looked exactly like what the video was showing. Truely, truely amazing what they can do now.

I am still vomiting (On Saturday it was about 3 times), and I only have a month to go, so I will definelty keep you in my prayers hoping you don't have the nausea, dizziness, and such all the way through!

I have more migraines more in my pregnancy too. My new doc said that some people's will go away completely, some people they will remain the same, and some will get worse. I follow that last catagory...they gave me a script of fiorocet (caffeine, butabital, and acemetophin) that helps me make it through. Oh, and when I was going through such a hard time emotionally, they put me on prozac or zoloft (can't remember which), but it increased the occurances of the migraines. So, I decided to go off it, and I feel much better now that I am off the meds. Yes, I realize that I do take meds (a lot more than others when I am pregnant, but I have to make it through somehow...and the docs give it to me, so they assume the benefits outway the risks). Oh, my doc did ask me to drink a cup of caffeinated soda before I took any of my headache meds to see if it helped...it didn't, but it may be worth a try. Some people have caffeine withdrawal and can't go cold turkey from caffeine in their pregnancies. They have to wean themselves off the caffeine.

Oh, and being off the anti-depressants, i do feel anxious on somedays, but it is mostly because of circumstances that are out of my control right now or because I am just ready to have the baby and for people to stop saying that it looks like I am ready to pop! Yes, I know I am big, but come-on, do they have to say it everytime they see me?

Hope you feel better soon, Jo.

Oh Jo, how sweet! I got goose bumps when I read your description. That "first" must have been so amazing. But you know what's even more exhilarating?? That there will be SO MANY MORE firsts that you guys will all get to enjoy together.

Time to turn into a cow (not literally, so to speak) and get your graze on! Small snacks throughout the day is great advice.

Congratulations!!
