Default ERrrrrr...

cora (my 10 m. old) was misdiagnosed at an appt on tues as having pnemonia. sent home with antibiotics and steroids. tues night i ended up having to go to the childrens ER with her temps reaching 105 and not being controlled with meds!
the doc there says she's not really happy with what the earlier pediatrician did...diagnosing pnemonia without an x-ray and prescribing a med that she doesn't feel works well with infants (i actually ?ed pediatrician too...but was given a rather decent reasoning - she's not our regular ped). so in the ER - they did a urine sample, blood work and an xray. turns out no pnemonia - but she does have a uti. argh. at least we got an answer after 8 hours in the er. and thankfully i have a good friend that went with (jeremy was out).
yesterday - she seemed to have a stomach bug and couldn't keep anything down! (including more antibiotics). we still haven't gotten them in her. and i had/got to go back to work today. i don't know what my options are for telling our clinic how frustrated i am with the misdiagnosis. how long would i have just given her the first antibiotic (which apparently wouldn't have helped the uti) and let this go up into her kidneys??
I HATE THIS! i hate that i have to work when i should be taking care of my baby. i know that jeremy is doing a fine job...but it makes my heart ache to watch her be so sick and not know how to fix it - and on top of that...have to go into work.
argh...no need to respond...i just wanted to get my frustration out there! my blog is not the best place to do that given that friends/relatives/coworkers read it. it's just that i'm so tired and frustrated and i just want to be home to be mommy -- not speech-language pathologist.
thanks for "listening".
