Default Paternity leave?

I'm sure that this varies by job, but were your husbands able to take time off around the birth of a new baby? How much? What if he is a new hire and still in that probationary period/sitting reserve a lot? (Forgive me, I know very little about how the airlines work!) Any info/experiences would be helpful, thanks!
