| Yup, He. So much for Mother's intuition. Zachary William was born Oct 22 at 9:28 am. He was 8lbs4oz-a whole pound bigger than is brother. We were admitted at 1am. We did manage a non-med birth but it was harder than DS -I had a really hard time getting into a good rythem to stay on top of the contrax. But alls well that ends well. My Doc got a huge kick out of the whole thing. I've mentioned that he is almost 70 and really non-intervention oriented. He loved the idea that I wanted to catch the baby. When it came time to push I had already been laboring on my knees leaning against the raised head of the bed. I just continued to push from there. My doc sat on the couch for over 45 minutes and just let me work with lots of encouraging words. He even had me reach inside and monitor the decent of the baby after every push (yes it IS possible -in reference to checking your own cervix from another post! lol) Eventually it was decided my water needed to be broken and I stayed on my back with knees up from there. I did try pushing on my side but DS got stuck first on my pubic bone then tailbone. Once we got past that, my doc reminded me that I had wanted to deliver on my side but at that point I just wanted him out. My doc made sure I got my hands down there and it was me that pulled him up onto my chest! He was a slippery little sucker! I'll post a few G rated pics but I have some VERY cool picts including one of only the baby's head sticking out of me. Its pretty graphic, so I want Kristie's permission and a consensus from all of you if you want to see. I'm great -no tears, stitches or probs with bleeding. Baby is nursing like a champ and very healthy. AND, DH was HOME. After calling him home earlier this month he took all his sick time and then they just told us not call back until the baby came. We've gotten a ton of stuff done around the house waiting for this baby to come! Enjoy the picts and thanks so much for all your support. It means the world to me. Brenda, honey, you're next!!!!!!
