| Jetgirls Plus Member ![]() | Ughh, Thursday night dh and I went to the hospital. All day I was having contractions and they had finally reached 5-3 minutes apart. Oh, the pain! So, I quickly packed a bag and went. Nice day to be going too. Not, we had tornado warnings for the evening. So, I got hooked up and they monitered me, then checked me. Oh that was fun!!! I swear I think the nurse felt my tonsils. I hadn't dilated at all. Just a dimple. So, I stayed for a couple more hours. NOTHING! Contractions there, but no progress. So, they sent me home. So, now I'm nervous. I did this whole back and forth thing 6 times with my second, and then on the 7th, I was a keeper. Dh commutes now, so it's not like he can just get home that easily. He leaves tomorrow and will be in NY for the next 2 nights and then ORD the last night. I'm such a mess rigt now. Back hurts, contractions are there, but nothing. Dh asked if I wanted him to stay but how can I say yes? Too many false alrms in the past and we still have 3 weeks. Today is the day I really hate being married to a pilot, I could just cry. If I did go into true labor, there will be no way he can get back to me in time from NY or MIA with a commute leg in there. I've been walking a bit,but now I just need to sit and wait and be in pain. UGHHHHHHH.

| Jetgirls Plus Member ![]() | Thank you! Yes, my inlaws are in town and so are my friends. There is no way I am having my MIL in the room with me while I'm trying to push a baby out! NO WAY! Either this baby comes out now, tonight, tomorrow while DH is still in ATL so that he can hop on the flight back home, or not til Wed night when he gets back and has 5 days off. The contractions are here, just not consistant. You'd think this was my first baby.

| Brenda, I hope things go well for you. How many weeks were you when you delivered the last one? Also, how long were you in labor? Even though he commutes, don't count it out that he won't get home. My hubby was in Canada when I went into labor last time, and he still made it home. ![]() Funny story: My m-i-law took me to the hospital with #5. Hubby was on a trip and was trying to make it home. She pulls up to the drop-off and says, "Give us a call and let us know when you have her." She said it with such seriousness, I just about died. We just moved here, new doctor, new hospital, no hubby in the state, etc. I was scared out of my mind. I looked at her and asked if she was serious, and she started laughing telling me that she was just parking the car. She is a nurse, and she pretty much stayed for all my checks until hubby came home. On the otherhand, my mom had to take me the last time, and my mom left the room anytime someone came in for a check. After 6 kids, I have gotten to the point that I would rather not have anyone else in the room, but then again, I am at a point where I could care a less who is in the room too....I have lost all sense of privacy now. ![]() |

I was exactly 4 weeks early with my second. All my labor was done at home the night before, starting around 8 or 9 PM. Iwas so scared to go to the hospital and be sent home, that I kind of ignored what I was feeling. That morning I woke up, not that I slept much that night, took a shower, packed my bag, waited for Eric to wake up and have a cup of coffee. I then told him that if he planned on taking a shower that day he needed to do so right away cause we need to go to the hospital. The panic in his face, lol. We went, stopped for every freakin' toll on 417 to the hospital while I'm grippin' the side of the car, got there, waiting to be called while in triage, barely got to the room for an epidural at 11-11 30 AM. 3 pushes later, By 1 30 or so, I was holding my little guy. There was no time for dilly dallin'. UPDATE: I feel my hips and everything inside really squishiesh?? Kind of like when you have real bad cramps/period. Eric had already left for ATL. He called me. He is on his way back to Evansville on the 11 30 some flight back home to start his family leave. I could use him more now, before the baby than after. My mom will be here on the 7th and his parents are just around he corner. Maybe I should go walking??? Once I know he's already airborne, lol.

We live in Evansville, IN, south of Indianapolis. Luckily we did not have tornadoes, just a ton of RAIN!
