| Hey, I watched Oprah the other day and Jessica Seinfeld (wife to Jerry) was on promoting her new cookbook. Well, I was so interested, I ran out and bought one. She makes a puree out of broccoli, califlower, carrots, spinach, beets, squash etc. You know, all the veggies most kids hate. Then she adds the puree to various kid friendly recipes, that way the kids are eating their veggies without knowing it. (She still offers them traditional veggies on their plate so their used to seeing them at every meal.) For example: tomorrow I'm making scrambled eggs with a califlower puree added. Other examples are mac and cheese with califlower added and burgers with broccoli. And my personal favorite, chocolate chip cookies with whole chickpeas!!!!! I'll let you know how these recipes fare in our house. Jen Last edited by czechmate; 10-12-2007 at 03:50 PM. Reason: grammer and spelling issues |

| I can't even tell you how annoyed I was by the fact that her book was on Oprah only - ONLY - because she is Jerry Seinfeld's wife. Talk about connections!

| I had to order the book online because all of the bookstores around me were out. I hope it works. My DD only eats strawberries, grapes, apples and bananas. No veggies at all. Maybe this will work!

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | My MIL has a book that is the same exact thing that she's had for about months, I think it's called "Sneak it in" or something like that. It's exactly the same though, purees and "bases" made out of veggies and stuff. |

| My little ones (1,2,3, and 4 year olds) all eat salad....figure that? BUT, I have such a hard time getting my 6 and 7 year old to eat any kind of veggies. BUT...we have a great blender called vita-mix (worth every cent) and you can stick carrots in a smoothie and really not taste it. So, at least I know they are getting some veggies. ![]() |

| Well, I just made the chickpea chocolate chip cookies. My kids loved them and still have no idea. My DH loves them too (he knew the special ingredient). My neighbor asked for more!! She eats almost no fruit or vegetables. They're pretty good. Just so you know, here's the ingredient list butter brown sugar rinsed chickpeas chocolate chips flour salt baking soda vanilla oats Jen |
