| Jetgirls Plus Member ![]() | I did not poop with ds#1, with ds#2 I think I did. I asked dh one day and he said no, but if I did, would he really want to tell me? lol. I don't want to know if I did.

| Jetgirls Member | for us twenty-somethings who don't have children yet...this thread is an absolute nightmare! i thought giving birth was magical and the baby just sort of popped out all clean and looking 6 months old? i watch too much television... i skipped out in biology class when we were forced to watch "the miracle of life." at any rate, congrats on the new baby! i hope everything goes smoothly...and that there is no pooping or embarassment to be had... |

| Jetgirls Member | Don't worry girls, after he sees you give birth, there is not much your body will do that will surprise or shock him ![]() For me, at that moment, I couldn't have cared less what my body was doing, other than getting the baby out. I was so totally focused on what was actually happening, and there sheer wonder of it (ok, and the pain), those "other" thoughts never even entered my mind. Doc wants to bring 5 medical students in the room? I didn't care, I actually peed on my nurse, she laughed it off and again, I didn't care, I'm sure many more potentially "embarassing" things happened, but I don't even remember them. So if it takes a little poop on the table to have that little baby in your arms... its a small price to pay. ![]() |

| Yes, I agree, it may be something you fear before and after the labor, but I wasn't thinking about it during the actual labor. I remember passing gas as I pushed, and my husband said, "What was that?" I was so embarressed at the time, but now that I have been through it, done that, I wouldn't want those things to happen, but I am not too worried about it either. Gosh, if we are close enough to have a baby, those other personal things just don't bug me anymore. I still like to shut the bathroom door for my privacy, but it doesn't matter, someone tends to always be knocking at the door. As far as the nice baby coming out clean and beautiful, I think that is pretty much just in the movies. And labor being a beautiful experience, I think that is based on the individual. Everyone's pain is different, even the pain in one labor might be different than the pain in another. Gosh, if it was that bad, people would only have one child, so it must be worth all the ucky parts too because a lot of people choose to have more. ![]() As far as the pain too, I remember it hurting so bad, and I am one of those people that don't tend to swear or anything, BUT with my second or third, my hubby said something like, "You can do it...just get through the pain...etc." Well, I turned to him and said, "When you pass an orange out of your penis, then you can tell me about pain!" My husband's response, "None of that dirty talk, Reggie!" I think the nurses had to pick my doctor off the floor from laughing so hard. |
