| I started this on a new topic, but I just had to know what the going rate is.....???? Let's say 2-3 kids, regular babysitter, used at least 2ce a week. I am sure geography plays a role, age, etc., but can everyone shoot me some examples???? |

| Jetgirls Plus Member ![]() | Heck, the ones I had in Orlando went to UCF. I paid them 10 bucks an hr, for 2. Or a base rate of maybe 40 bucks for 4 hrs, 3 kids.???But it also depends on age. if you get a kid that has done the Red Cross certification I would maybe pay 6 bucks an hr. But, before you name a price, ask the sitter what a reasonable rate would be to them. Currently I have no sitter, just friends. The moms around here are very secretive of who they have and don't share numbers because of competitive rates. How silly is that? Good luck!

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | Like I said in another post, I babysit around the Park City area. Typically for 2-3 kids I charge $15/hr, (unless they are tourists and I know they can afford more and I'll charge $20). I babysat on a regular basis throughout the summer for 1 girl one afternoon a week for a couple of hours and charged $10/hr. She was really easy to take care of though because she was 4months old when I started and 7mos old when that ended. I still baby sit occasionally for the family in the evenings or weekends but not regularly anymore. As far as I know $10-15 would be reasonable for 2kids twice a week. Though, it does help to ask up front what they charge - or state what you're willing to pay so that way when you hand them a check or cash at the end of the evening they don't get upset if they were thinking you'd be paying more. |

| Jetgirls Member | I pay $6/hr for sitters that are under 18 and $8/hr for my one that is 22. I only have 1 child and he's usually asleep for the bulk of the time they are watching him (fri/sat nights). I've found them through word of mouth mostly, daughters of friends and co-workers. Regina, I'm sure you can find someone through your church; maybe through a sunday school class or young women's group? I found a bunch of sitters when I asked a friend who was a Girl Scout leader to make an announcement that I was looking for older girl sitters at her monthly troop leader meeting. Kim
