So do you see any resemblence to Caleb? [img]/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] We are not finding out the gender so I have no news for you there, however I have decided it's a boy because it was scratching it's bum, and well, a girl just wouldn't do that when people were looking. We knew Caleb was a boy when we saw him sticking his toungue out. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img] And everything appears to be perfectly healthy so far, we are so relieved and so blessed! (BTW-the white spots by it's mouth are knuckles, I know it looks like it's spitting or something, but you can see a faint shadow of the arm if you look hard, Caleb was doing the same thing in his pic). [img]/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] Oh, and they switchd it over to Doppler mode, I have never seen that before! It showed the blood going in and out of the umbilical cord--really weird and freaky but cool. It looked like a doppler weather map, with storms rolling in! LOL

so when do they normally start sucking their fists or thumbs like that?

it's really interesting to see just how similar caleb & pumpkin seed are at this point in time - esp with the whole fist sucking thing going on!

My calendar says during week 17-18 "Your baby may already be sucking its thumb and swallowing small amounts of amniotic fluid." The funny thing is that I wondered if Caleb would be a thumb sucker after birth since he'd already started before birth. But he wasn't.

no kidding! i've never heard of a non thumb sucking kid! :-D

Neither of my boys are thumb suckers either, it's very nice! They were both addicted to the pappy's but at least you can take those away. I've always wondered with twins before they're born if they know the other one is there and do they play with each other? I know they sleep better after birth if they're put together but I wonder if they interact before birth.

Aww, that is such a cute thought to think of them playing together!! Ok, I could be TOTALLY wrong here, but I THINK, if I remember right, that each is in it's own fluid sac, so maybe they could like poke each other and stuff just by kind of bouncing around, but not like kick the crap out of each other? Maybe I dunno what I am talking about hee hee. They probably need SOME kind of protection from each other or they'd get all tangled up in each others cords and stuff wouldn't they?

For some reason i think that they can get tangled in eachother's cords... or maybe that's just durring labor/delivery?

I was a thumb sucker for many years despite my mom's best efforts to break the habit. I eventually grew out of it and the kicker is, i have perfectly straight teeth while my bro who never was a thumb sucker or addicted to a pacifier had to have a few years of braces to fix his. :-D
