| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | As far as I know that is a nationwide rule but at the very least it's the law in Utah. They don't want your children to be worth more to you dead then they are alive. Unfortunately there are enough sickos that do think like that.... |

| UUUGGGGG, I'm getting teary eye'd just thinking about all of this. We do not have life insurance on our child, but we have discussed it. I don't think its a complete waste of money, but its just not something we see a need for right now. My cousin's baby died of SIDS when he was just 4 weeks old. I was still in highschool and to this day, that funeral was probably one of the most morbid horrible terrible experiences I've ever had. I wouldn't wish that agony on anyone....not even the worst people on earth. So, I'm going to change the topic....back to the u/s. You are so lucky that you got an u/s at 12 weeks! Our ins. only allows one unless there is a medical reason for more (and no one wants that!) *Here's a good tip for preserving the u/s photos: Since the paper fades over time and laminating them seems to melt them, DH went to Kinko's and scanned them onto the Kodak machine. He blew up our favorite one into a 5x7 photo and we have it framed. We also made some for the grandparents and they made great gifts! Just thought I'd pass that along! |

| Jetgirls Member | Just [i:f358578099]one[/i:f358578099] more thought on life insurance for children. Here's what Jim did. He has two children that are grown now (in their early twenties). When they were little he took out $50K insurance policies on each of them. He said that each policy cost around $250 per year. Now that his kids are grown, they own those insurance policies and can continue to pay the premiums or let them lapse. OK... back to the topic. Dianne |
