| Well I've waited quite awhile to share this with everyone because I miscarried at 13 weeks last November but... I'm PREGNANT! I got to have an ultrasound earlier this week (week 13 ironically) and got to see the little sucker moving around and most importantly, that little heart just beating away. My OB is so awesome, he was in a hurry to get to a surgery and had finished with me when DH walked in. He was late b/c he had to drop off his dry cleaning. Doc said, "Oh, lay back down. He can't come all this way and miss it!". So he did another quick ultrasound so DH could see it. Bless his heart, "Doctor Bob" is just so wonderful. But he did admit that it was more fun to see my baby than to do a surgery anyway! lol The appt was a little scary because neither the nurse nor the doctor could find the heartbeat with the doppler. My heart was just on the floor. It was everything I had been afraid of (when I miscarried before, the preg had failed weeks before but my body just wouldn't give up. I still felt preg and I had no idea something was wrong). That's when the doc offered to do the Ultrasound. Even then, we could see it moving around but not the heart beat. It wasn't until the second time that the baby held still long enough for us to finally see it. Thank goodness. So, I think now I can sit back and enjoy the pregnancy. I loved being preg with Jason so I look forward to this. I'm due Oct 23 but Jason was a week early so maybe this baby will aim for my birthday of October 17! I don't think we'll find out the sex. We didn't with Jason and it was pretty fun to do all the old wives tales and to hear the proclaimation. However, b/c DS had A LOT of red hair that we saw well before his sex, we were pretty focused on that (red hair hasn't been in the family for three generations! Its a good thing he looked just like his Dad when he was born!) But it might be easier for DS to have a name to call the baby? We always called him "the Tick" because he just sucked me dry -little weight gain in spite of nightly ice cream runs and lots of bone crushing fatigue. But, I don't think Jay should call his sibling Tick II -you know? For a boy it will be William or Phillip and a girl is Grace. All family names, and I'm voting for William Phillip but DH wants to name it Phillip (brothers name -we also concieved at his house ) But Willliam is my father's, brother's and two close friend's name. So we'll see. Please send me lots of sticky vibes if you think of it and I'll keep you posted.... Jackie |
