Our triplets are going to be two tomorrow! Ahh.... it seems to be going so much faster with them than Emily. Probably becuase they keep DH and I on the run. It truely has flown by though. We put up toddler beds this week - Jeff was amazed that it was time for toddler beds. They spend more time climbing in and out of each others cribs than acutally sleeping during nap time... so I figured I would take away their favorite climbing toy and put them in big kid beds. Happy Birthday - Nicolas, Gabriella & Cecelia.

Kyla turned two today! Party will have to wait till later though since everyone has conflicting schedules. No way am I ready to put her in a toddler bed! I thought about it briefly because she can't get to the toilet in time when she has to wait for me to get her out of the crib, but I quickly changed my mind. I'm just not ready for her to have that kind of freedom yet! We waited till Caleb was 2 1/2 to put him in one.

Happy Birthday Kyla! Yeah you- you have her going potty and she is just 2. We tried Gabriella for a couple of days before I went back to work, but she had not put the whole thing together yet- where everything comes from. Plus, it was a 35 minute adventure everytime. Gabriella would sit on the potty, the other two would watch with Jeff, and then everyone had to take a turn washing their hands, sometimes more than once...

We are taking everyone out to dinner tomorrow. They are only two, so we will keep it small. They need to make some friends before we can have a full scale party.

happy birthday to all the kiddies!!! it's tough to see them grow up so fast....yet so fun....

My BIL and SIL I kid you not had a Mariatchi (SP???) band, and a full on Mexican Fiesta for their daughters first bday! I was like "geez, I'm going to have to hire a magician and a hot air balloon to top this!" LOL. They said they weren't going to do it every year though, just for her first. There was more people there than I had at my wedding reception!

Something fun we've been doing for bdays in our family is a montage of photos and video from the kids previous year. Just a fun way to recap their growing up! I've also done a time capsule for my son's first bday, and for my daughter, I had all the women in the family help me put together a book for her to read when she's 12, with all the advice we wish we had heard or needed to hear at that age, and about coming into womanhood and all that.

We survived! We took everyone out to dinner and celebrated with cake and ice cream at the house. The kids had a lot of fun and actually did not make too big of a mess with the yum yums.

I had to promise DH that we would not be going on any more excursions, having any more parties, building anything, or taking anything apart again for a long time. Between Christmas, New Year and four of our five kids having birthdays, we have been on a dead run for the last two weeks.

The last toddler bed went up last night... Nicolas now takes turns sleeping with his sisters. He was getting up and getting in Gabriella's bed, but now Cecelia has a big kid bed too, and that is where I found him this morning. I had them in the same crib for a really long time, I figure they just miss sleeping together and are taking their new freedom to its full advantage.
