We found out yesterday that we are expecting baby #2's arrival in early March! I'd had my suspicions, but I'd tested a month ago and got [b:49759ecfdb]4[/b:49759ecfdb] negatives on home tests. So I just blew it off and figured it didn't happen. It was my first month off the pill, and I certainly wasn't [i:49759ecfdb]expecting[/i:49759ecfdb] it to happen so soon! But things just didn't 'feel' right, so I tested again yesterday, just to be sure I wasn't pregnant, and low and behold I got a positive! Damn that was fast! My first doctor visit is next Thursday, so I'll have a real due date to give you all then, the online sites that I visited said March 1st and March 2nd. If it happened when I think it happened (and really I'm not 100% sure when it did!) I'm 7 weeks already! Yikes! I knew with Alex like at 3 1/2 or 4 weeks! I'm feeling extremely guilty about not taking my vitamins, and about the gin & tonic I had at my friend's wedding last month, and the 3 wine coolers I drank (over the course of 5 days). Really, it's fine, I'm taking my vitamins like a good girl, and no more booze, but it's still a bit guilt-inducing to know that I should have been doing things better. Oh well. I'm excited/terrified/scared/elated all at the same time! So, another JC/FCAPA baby on the way!

| Admin/Owner ![]() | Congratulations Amber!!! I'm surprised you had so many negatives come back...I for sure thought those things worked like a charm (hey, what do i know eh?! haha)... If you don't mind me asking... how is it that things weren't feeling quite right? reason I ask is cuz I haven't been feeling "quite right" but have no idea what to look for... and I checked once already to make sure it wasn't "that", which it told me it's not...so I'm hoping that's still the case (I think? ).. I still don't know if I want one or not - Doug's got me seriously confused in the "I'll have kids if you want them" saga...but lately, it's been GREAT day (i'm bouncing off the walls) or Tired as all H8ll day or as I've been calling it "everyday is a different hairstyle day"! but that's why I'm asking! maybe my thyroid is just off wack again after having the weirdest stomach flu a few weeks ago...hahaha I've heard that baby #2 is always easier to handle since you've already been through it once -> esp when it comes to delivery! How did you spill the beans to Bill? |

I got so many negatives because I was just testing too early. It was my own fault, the tests are only effective when there's enough of the hormone in your system to measure. False negatives are FAR more common than false positives, generally if you get a positive from test, it's a baby! My 'not feeling right' is a few things: -Mood swings, being happy one day, and sobbing the next. Often crying and/or being upset about trivial things, though they certainly do not seem trivial at the time. -Bleeding that may occur at the same 'time' that a certain 'monthly visitor' is due, but it's not like what it usually is. I usually get really bad backaches, and last month I had no aching back, it was lighter and lasted a few days less than usual. -Fatigue. The likes of which I only feel when pregnant or doing a month of stand-ups. If you 'suspect' something, and get a negative, test again in a week or two. (or in my case, 4!) From what you said (being tired and having the 'flu'), I would test again in a week or two! Nobody is ever really 'ready' to have kids. There's no perfect time, no perfect circumstances. We knew we wanted kids, but we were still terrified when we found out Alex was on his way! And even though I've been through it before, I'm still scared now too! But I know it'll be okay, and it'll all work out.

Also, everyone's body deals differently with being pregnant. Some women get horrible morning sickness, some are so tired they can't hardly stand up, some get crabby, and others go through radical personality/mood swings.

Just realized I forgot to say how I spilled the beans to Bill! He was out mowing the lawn, and Alex and I went outside and I said "Umm, do you remember a couple weeks ago when I said I wasn't pregnant? Well, it appears I was mistaken....." He was suprised but excited and very happy!
