Default Dog walker ?

Where would I find someone to take out a dog? My parents need a dog taker-outer (other than me), and I would like to find them some names of people or services. Do I look under "dog walker" or is there another name?

Thank you

I'd try that, or "pet sitter." I know many pet sitters offer walking services. Also, I've noticed people advertising their dog-walking services on Craigslist in the "Pets" section. Obviously, be careful on that site, as ANYone can post on there. Maybe they could provide references...

I see notices at the grocery store (Kroger) for cleaning, dog walkers, etc.
You can check w/local community college, too. Do you have a Petsmart or similar business anywhere nearby? Local vets might have part-time employee who wants some extra $.

The EAP I set up for my employees has concierge services. They would find you a pet sitter that is already vetted. Does your or your DH's company offer an EAP?

Regina,

You can have her call her vet and ask them. I know there is a sign at my vet's for a pet sitter who is one of the people that actually work in the office. Or maybe try asking a dog groomer.

I am not sure what an EAP is, but we live in FL and the base is IAH.

Employee Assistance program. Some companies have it, some don't.

XJT does have an EAP but I HIGHLY doubt they would find a dog walker for you! I know if you called one of the people at CAL and asked for that service they would most likely choke on their own laughter!

Yes, it's an Employee Assistance Program and ours would happily help you with any service you requested, including how to roast the Thanksgiving turkey. Yes, they would find a dog walker too!

Do any US airlines have something like this? I just can't see it... in this day and age of "charge for EVERYTHING." If so, lucky employees of THAT company...
