believe it or not, it brings up the way my ladygirl died..unexpected too and that was over 6 years ago and i still get teary....can't wait till i slow down on the traveling enuff to get another! I have hope that someday, i'll have more than a ranch full...haha

Man. I am so sorry to hear that news. They must be so sad. DH and I often say we don't know what we'll do when our dog passes away, and she's only 2 and a half! She is a Great Dane, though, and their life span is usually 7-13 years. (Usually at the lower end.) Our life revolves around that dog. Thinking about being without her... it's just too much to think about. I hope your sister and family are ok. They'll be in my thoughts.
