| Jetgirls Member | Hi everyone, I took my cat to the vet about a week ago because she has had on again/off again issues with her teeth. Then, a few days ago, she started sneezing and sounds stuffy, with what looks like occasionally runney eyes. It looks like she has a cat cold. All she wants to do is cuddle up to me, poor thing. I'm curious if anyone has ever experienced this? Should I give it a few days to see if she gets over it, or take her to the vet? Any suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks!

| It might be or it could be allergies. I have several neighbors that have dogs with allergies. All take medicine!!! Give it a few days, if it doesn't get better or becomes worse, then I would take your cat to the vet. Jen |

You can't win! Every time you take them in, they get sick or something else happens. ![]() I would say to give it a few days and if she's not better, take her in. You might also want to try taking her temp.. it's really gross and she'll hate it, but depending on how high it is might help you decide whether or not to take her in. Good luck! | |

| Admin/Owner ![]() | poor thing! could be she caught a cold from the vet or maybe she has an infection from her teeth problems? gotta be a little careful with the stuffiness sneezy thing though because cats only breathe through their noses. they use their mouths for scent or heat but as far as i know, not for breathing.

| Jetgirls Member | Thank you guys That's a great point, Kristie, I wasn't aware they only breathed out of their noses. She seems less stuffy now, which is a great relief. I'm guessing she had to have gotten it at the vet, which is almost traumatic trying to take her to and from (for both of us). I never knew cats could get a cold... learn something new every day i guess ![]()
