Default What a good dog!!!!

Well, at least he was yesterday.

We adopted two dogs two and a half years ago after our two "canine children" died within months of each other. I was preg with DS and these two definately don't get the VIP treatment the others did. However, we love them and often remark that it is a good thing our little setter mix is cute because otherwise, we'd choke him to death. He can be really naughty -he steals things and hides them under the bed and sometimes gets a little snarky when cornered after being busted. However, he's never snarled at the baby and is a cuddler. This is the one that put his paw on DS's head when at 18 months DS demanded he shake hands before eating!

Anyway, a friend was shot and almost killed by a stalker a few months ago. She's been in the hospital and now a nursing home for three months and dying for some pet therapy (she's a country girl). So I took "Boo" to see her. He did so great!

He marched in there, sized her up and just sat quietly by her side to be petted. She has abdominal wounds so I was concerned he might jump up but he never even considered it. The next lady however, was an amputee and he did crawl halfway into her lap! She about cried with joy! Then when we went back to her room, he sat and stayed right where I put him and only moved when it looked like I might leave.

I was so impressed. I know he's a really smart little guy and really just needs a job. He sure did great yesterday!
Just had to share....
