| Admin/Owner ![]() | royal canin is prescription only. you'd have to go to your vet first but it is a good weight control type of food. how long does it take for your cats to settle down at night? remember that most cats are more nocturnal cuz they sleep all day. ours run around for 5 minutes, maybe no more.. but always at night or late late night. if doug's not at home, they typically come hog the bed after i've been there for 10 mins or so. haha peaches just fell off the upstairs balcony tonight. she's limping a bit on her right side cuz she hit the sofa table pretty hard. even knocked a candle off and shattered it...luckily, none of the cats got glass in their paws and peaches seems ok except for the whole pride thing...you know, they tend to go missing when they're hurting but she's chasing the other cats around already so i'm assuming she's just bruised up a bit. guess i need to get that chicken wire out again.. problem is, they use it as a climbing toy. i just can't win.

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | We blocked our cats off with a screen material. I think you can buy it in rolls, but if not a screen replacement isnt very much either, and you just take the frame off. We got ours at Lowes. They will probably tear it up a little, but the holes are fairly small so they can't really climb it either. |

The cats are usually fine to begin with, but inevitably in the middle of the night, they'll get up and start causing all sorts of racket! They're bedhogs, too... Piper (the chunky kitten) likes to get under the covers... she'll be all settled in and snuggled up. Then Draco (the older one) jumps up on the bed, inevitably stepping on Piper, which causes her to move, causing him to pounce on the moving object under the comforter... it's cute, but annoying when you're trying to get to sleep!! Aww, poor Peaches! Glad that she doesn't seem too injured... I swear, they're worse than kids! Baby gates don't work with cats, either. ![]() | |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | When they are determined to get in something, they do it. We tried to block of the opening to the kitchen with a screen contraption dh built. it was an attempt at an asian screen, but its wider and taller, and not even close to being attractive lol. But it worked! we had to put a chair on one side, the garbage can on the other side (one on each part of the screen, it folded in half) so they couldn't push through or pull and open it. I swear i think they work together to get things open. They are devious little curious creatures, but they are so cute... one of their many weapons |

| This is a little off the subject, but I have a 12 year old cat, who is very anti-social. The only time we see her is at night, late when she jumps on my bed. She has only been to the vet one time in her life and the vet (who is a really good friend) asked me to never bring her back because she was sooooooo bad. Anyway, I said that because I rarely ever pet her because she usually attacks me when I try to touch her. But I did actually get to pet her last night and I noticed all these little bumps under her fur on her chest. I had noticed a few of the same kind of bumps/lumps on the back of her neck. They are small and they don't seem to bother her, but has anyone ever experienced this with their cats? I will call my vet or ask him in a couple of weeks when I take my dog in, but was just curious.

| Jetgirls Plus Member ![]() | That's what i was thinking flea bites? Or maybe her skin is dry and she has some sort of rash? If you can get a hold of her again, chk to see if her skin is flaky. It could be some sort of dermititis type thing that could be treated with food. That's kind of what happened to our Persian Henry. A few fleas got to him, he was allergic and then started flaking. It was a mess, we had to get him shaved like a lion, poor little guy. Kristie, is the kitty still limping today?

| Nope, not flea bites. It is not a bump like a sore. It is more like a lump than a bump I guess. I worry about cancer, and was wondering if anyone had gone through cat cancer and if this was one of the signs. But trying to get close enough to see them is totally out of the question. I was lucky to even get to pet her!!!She has only been outside the one time we moved and the one time she went to the vet. And lately, she has been camped out in my closet, she only come out when no one is around to eat and potty, then right back in the closet. Cats are wierd. I always thought of myself as a "cat person" until I got this cat and realized how moody and unpredictable some can be. I swear she is that way because we got her declawed. My dh insisted that we declaw her and now I think it really screwed her up!
