i doubt it...they like to make sure the anesthesia wears off and they don't want any liability with you taking kitty out too early. they're gonna want to make sure he eats/sleeps etc.

but there's no reason you can't call them or even stop by and see how he's doing.

That's what I'm going to do. I just don't like the idea of him being alone in a cage all night. I mean, it's not like there will be anyone THERE to watch him! Whereas with me, I take care of people post-surgery ALL the time...if he's not doing the things he needs to do, I'll know it. Also, they wanted me to pick him up at 7:15 am, and they don't open until 7:30. Can they honestly tell me that a vet is going to look at him before he goes home? I doubt it. I think he'd be better off with me.

They let me take him home! He's doing fine...he just looks like a fish! He's on his back, holding his bandaged front paws in the air and scooting around on his back legs. What a weirdo, this one. They just told me to take the bandages off in the morning. I tried giving him some baby tylenol for pain, but he got REALLY mad. Usually he takes medicine pretty well. Oh well, he got an injection of pain meds while still under anesthesia, and he has a fentanyl patch that will be on for 3 days. He's passed out right now, poor baby.
