This month (Jan) he actually held a commutable line with Sunday's off. For Feb. he could only hold commutable Thurs-Sun.
Won't that get better once he goes to EWR? Or will that screw up his seniority #? Brian's schedules have been partially commutable... he usually ends up in the crashpad around 4-6 nights a month. It always seems like the last leg of his trip will get delayed and he misses the last flight out.

Have you talked about moving closer to the base or waiting until he goes to the majors? Brian hates commuting... right now the plan is to wait another year~year & a half and then look into moving to the PA/NJ area. My company has offices in PA and just opened an office in Princeton, so apart from being away from friends & family, it won't be too horrible... we'd still be within 2 hours of them.

Well this month he's going to be home during the ILIW, so I'm going to get to witness the cursing at the computer screen and throwing things first-hand, lol!

I'm so anal about, I actually bring my atomic clock in where our computer is and I do a trade before it actually starts to see how much time difference CCS is off, which is about 5 seconds faster, then I push the enter button at the exact time! I missed trips beofre because I was too late. I pick the trip I want to trade the most for the first attempt. I have found if you try to do multiple trades all together it usually takes too long and the trips are gone.

This is actually with him going being in EWR (he was holding not so good lines in CLE, but then again everyone was!). We just found out an hour ago that the EWR and IAH CA lines had to be re-awarded due to changes in the Charter Pilot Pool. So now of course he went from his 15 choice to his 36th choice. This made it uncommutable for 2 of the ends of the pairings. The good thing is it actually has weekends off, but the bad thing is he was off the whole end of the month (my school vacation) with the other line...oh well. We are hoping maybe to find a pairing the beginning of the month for the end of the month and hope the coverage is okay.

As for moving closer to one of Express's bases. Not an option. DH refuses to move for this company. If they had decent bases it would be one thing. Also, all our family is up here. He hates commuting but loves NH.

I had thought the summer would work out...but I never thought that xmas would. The guys that hold that week are all senior guys who most likely are staying with Express. I just can't believe that after only 8 days of him being added to the EWR vacation bid, I got everything he wanted. He is lucky to have me!

Thanks to all for listening to me complain!

Good luck with that! I hate when Brendan has to do it. He gets really upset at the computer!

The best is when you have to do it. And you realize that it is all up to you. I do the same thing Jan does, synchronizing clocks, practicing to see what the "time" was that ccs got it vs. what my clock said when I sent it. It is so scary! I swear one of these days my heart is going to stop!

We were happy we didn't have to do it this month or Feb....but now we have to do it in Feb since the changed the lines that were awarded yesterday! At least DH is home.
