Thanks Jan...I feel as though I am checking every 5 minutes because you never know! I just happened to check around 8:30 tonight and the week in July was open....weird! He is in Canada tonight so he doesn't even know I got a week in July for him yet, he better be happy! He just started commuting from MHT to EWR this month, and he is not happy about it (lots of commuters...and only ERJs now, used to have a CAL flight the last flight in/first flight out but for some reason it is changed to Express and it is full for the next few weeks!). CLE commuting was much easier, but the lines are getting worse and worse. He hopefully have a much better schedule in EWR, just have to pray he can get to work!

I can't believe they took the 737 off those MHT flights. I guess it wasn't worth it for them to put up 2 overnight crews there. I have heard there are a ton of MHT-EWR commuters. I checked the Feb. bid packets for all 3 bases and they did not put it back on for Feb. either. That stinks. Hope he doesn't have to drive to BOS too many times.

We can't believe it either! We thought it was just a winter thing (sometimes they do that for Jan/Feb) but we checked for future dates and it still says only RJ's. The only good thing is that there is only 1 or 2 other MHT commuters senior to him, but we know there are alot of CAL guys who are going to be upset when then don't get the jumpseat....we'll see how it goes. I am so hoping maybe there are better things coming to us in the future....

The weird thing about them taking the 737 off the last/first flight is now the last/first flights are overbooked! And BOS isn't much better since now all those commuters are going to go there along with the usual BOS commuters!

The only thing good about BOS is that there are so many flights. Bill commuted from there a long time ago and they do EVERYTHING they possibly can to get non-revs on, especially if you are commuting to work. I'm sure those flights were already booked as if it were supposed to be a 737 before they changed it to an RJ. I can't figure out why they don't put a 737 on PIT-EWR once a day too, the flights are always full and overbooked, yet they cancel them so much. And the weird thing is that they don't put people over to US that often, so what the heck happens to those people? Weird! When I lived in MHT there were probably 15 flights a day you get take to BOS on 2 different airlines and about 10 to EWR on 2 different airlines!

Talking Re: Can anything go right????

Being persistant pays off! I have been checking the vacation schedule almost every hour or so (if I have a minute when my students are working) to find DH better vacation weeks. Well we now have 1 week in July and 1 week in August (like we wanted) and.....xmas week opened up today! I happened to be checking at the right time! I was looking at the vacation trade screen (not with everyones names, it just gives open weeks in numbers) and I saw 52...and I thought, 52, 52 that is what we want! I put in the trade and it went through! I am so excited. I couldn't wait until DH landed so I could call him and tell him. He couldn't belive it. We had hoped we would eventually get the 2 weeks in the summer and that happened within 1 week of him being on the EWR vacation....and we didn't have high hopes for xmas. But we got lucky. Thank god it was able to work out. I hate when DH is upset and now it is all fixed. YAY for me

That's great news!! Now if I could only convince Brian to let me do his bidding for him........ he only has 3 weekend days off next month and he could've done a lot better with the way he bid. Argh. We'll probably have this bidding thing figured out right around the time he's getting ready to upgrade!

Brendan does the bidding....for the monthly lines at least. He commutes so he has to bid commutable lines. After being with the company since 1999, he still can't hold weekends off (unless it is uncommutable) and he is around #430 in the company! This month (Jan) he actually held a commutable line with Sunday's off. For Feb. he could only hold commutable Thurs-Sun. If he is working, I will do the line improvement window. It sucks, but it is the only way to get better/commutable trips! I love using ccs so I can check open time for him, check his flights home, etc.
