Lucky with bidding actually. The pref bidding has been good to us so far. He put in to start a trip on the 2nd (guaranteeing he'd have New Years off) and I guess all the specific trips he wanted senior guys wanted too. That, or they did the same thing he did, and bid specific trips, and ended up getting them all, leaving Bill off by default. Either way, he ended up with a 2 week vacation. Which he has pissed away dilly-dallying in the office, doing his usual staying up all night sleeping all day shit, and just drowing himself and wallowing in all the negativity of the industry right now. (Paycuts, etc......)

I totally know how you feel. The hardest part of the week is the day he leaves and I walk him out to his car, hug him, kiss him, beg him to stay, and then walk back up to my apartment alone.

While he gets on my nerves when he's home, I really despise being alone.

I get to go see him tonight!!!!!!!!

isn't that the yuckiest feeling? When Bill leaves I always walk him out to his car then walking back into the house without him is always such a weird feeling,,, the house always feels soooo empty without him here. Even though I have my two wonderful dogs,,,, it's still very lonely when he's not here..... THis must be,,,, i wanna feel sorry for myself day.....I always joke with everyone that I can't wait for the day that I actually look forward to him leaving. I just can't imagine feeling that way right now though.

DH is home now till next week--he had a trip drop due to Jury Duty. It would have been a very neat capital punishment trial but they excused him after they heard his stories.

For me it's harder because DH does a lot around the house and picks up a lot of the other duties (oil changes, etc). But I also get into the routine of taking care of myself when he is gone. It's nice because when he grocery shops before he leaves, he buys me single servings of salmon, etc so that I don't have to worry about food.

After 26 years, I can truly say that my guy is great!

Roz, your DH sounds a lot like my DH. Maybe that's why it's so hard sometimes. Bill does so much around here and for me when he's home that when he's gone it's hard not having him around. I miss him like crazy right now and I didn't sleep worth a crap last night because I have had him next to me for the last week. Can't wait til Friday!

Well I know I'm ONLY dating and he is ONLY my BF......BUT, when he leaves the hotel room in his uniform for the next leg of his trip and I've only spent about 30 hours with him, haven't seen him for a month previously and won't see him again for another month - yes, its very hard.

But we have such wicked online chats when he is on trips...gossiping about the tech crew, the country he is in, what he gets upto etc.
