| So I had an interview 2 1/2 weeks ago for Inflight Manager of Training. I got the impression that they were wanting to fill the positon pretty quickly. I interviewed on a Tuesday, and was told that they had a couple other people to interview that week, and that they would be making their decision early the next week. If I was chosen, I would be called with an offer. If I was not chosen, I would get a letter. Well, it's been 2 1/2 weeks and I have not gotten either a call or a letter. I really have come to accept that I probably didn't get it, and that's fine, but I'd like to know for sure whether or not I need to ramp up my job search again! My dilemna is should I send a quick, nicely worded email asking what my standing is? Or should I let it go? Is it considered improper or impolite to ask? |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | I would go a step further and say call them. Just say something to the effect of "I was calling to follow up on an interview I had for the inflight training manger position. It's been about two weeks and I haven't heard anything from you guys." At that point they'll usually stammer around and say Uh well uhm you didn't get it sorry or something like that, but definatly follow up, it shows that you're interested in the job still and willing to be agressive about it. (good thing) |

| Definitely follow up on the interview. I've always been told that one should follow up after interviewing - it won't be considered rude at all. Good luck! |

| If phoning is uncomfortable, you may try this approach. Write a note thanking them for the first interview, and tour of the facility (if this was done) State something specific about the company that you feel positively about/admire, and then restate why you believe that you are the perfect fit for their company's needs, and why their company is a good fit for your needs as well. I have done this on 2 competitive jobs and been offered both!!

| Admin/Owner ![]() | I've done both...with most ofmy job interviews, i've send a "thank you" letter afterwards and then called a week to a week 1/2 later to follow up. it's not considered rude - it's considered more as a "she's really interested in this job" type thing.

| I did send them an email early this morning, it was short and very polite basically thanking them again (I'd sent a follow-up email the day of the interview) for the opportunity to interview, and re-interating my interest in the position. I got a reply a couple hours later saying 'thanks' for chekcing in and that they had not yet completed the hiring process, but that they would be sure to let me know. So we'll see. At least they know I'm still interested and thinking about them. |

| That's all you can do (and you did the right thing!). Employers are so fickle and unprofessional in the hiring process. They forget that the applicant is "interviewing" them too! |
