| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | I must say that reading all of this is hard for me right now. We are in limbo right now, not as much of a change as you guys are looking at, but.... The DH is a rampie for MEsaba, and they ar ein the process of completely reforming since NW is having its problems. WEll this is DH's source of income while he finishes school. His dream his entire life has been to fly for teh airlines. Growing up in the Chicago suburbs he saw the big planes flying over every day. He has worked for Mesaba for 2 1/2 years. I haven't seen him for holidays and such as a result. When we went to different schools (I finally graduated in May) we only saw wachother once every 4-6 weeks since he couldn't get off of work. WE have made many sacrifices getting to the point we are....he is supposed to graduate this Spring, and he is depressed about what he is going to do. HE feels like the last 4 years have been a waste and he tells me that on a fairly regular basis. Attempting to keep him motivated to go to work and class is hard. I've picked up extra duties at school to try and keep a bit in savings, but even those of us that haven't ogtten completely off the ground are feeling this. |

| Well stopping drinking alcohol seems to have saved me $$$$$ this last month as I'm not going out with friends so much for drinks which invariably leads to dinner. Also taking a packed lunch to work (or leftovers from dinner the night before), not buying my coffee as I walk into work in the morning, cancelling newspaper delivery and not buying magazines or books (use the public library instead). Phone up all your service providers (internet/mobile phone etc) and ask them what offers they have and switch plans (don't know about over there but here, they don't tell you about deals..you have to go to them)...call up your credit card companys and tell them to wipe off your annual fees or you change cards. Shop according to season (get cheaper veggies), cut back on dry cleaning, don't buy any more toiletries until you have used up all that you have (and I know you have lots of everything because we all do), clear out your jewellery box and weigh in any broken gold chains or earings where you have lost the other one, valet the car yourself, ...erm. Thats all I can think of for now without going onto cutting petcare expenses. I just cut my maid's hours and thats painful enough. I sympathise with you. |
