Ok, I admit it. When Charlie's home he does a lot. Now he's gone for two months (Airbus school). I work long hours and am 47.6 miles from home. Who's gonna make my lunch? Who's gonna make my dinner? Who's gonna make my coffee and breakfast in the morning? Who's gonna take out the trash? [And since both he and our son, Evan, managed to get their winters scheduled in Florida, who's gonna shovel the driveway? ![]() Ok, complaining is done. ![]()

haha, sorry Roz, I don't mean to laugh, it's just that I so relate. Bill was just in new hire training all of october and november and half of december so i know how your feeling,,,,It's one thing if we WANT to make our own breakfast and coffee,, and if we WANT to take out the trash, but when you HAVE to do it because there's no one else around to do it, then that's the part that stinks! hang in there. where in florida is he? He'll be home before you know it. You can even go see him can't you?

Eric was only gone for a week - and he was on vacation. I can't imagine being away from him for 2 months. I didn't take the trash out that entire week. He did it for me yesterday. I couldn't be without him for 2 months. I hope you can get someone to keep you company.

wiat until eric goes to the airlines,,, you'll have no choice but to be without him for two months, I thought the same thing, "oh my gosh, how am I going to do this for two whole months" but somehow, you find a way to make it work. I woke up this morning feeling so poopy because the very first thing I realized was that Bill was not home It made me feel very sad. Good thing is, he will hopefullt be home tonight ( if scheduling doesnt extend his reserve window that is) Seems like just when I miss him sooo much, he's usually home that night. Funny how that works!

| Admin/Owner ![]() | yeah, they're gone for 6 weeks of training... but in it's defense, it's really not THAT bad! for one thing, that type of training only happens when your switching airplanes and moving up the line. recurrent training is usually once a year for 3 days and "change of base" training is about a week depending if your changing bases and/or planes. but when you switch planes, it takes longer to train. the pilots still get the weekends off (for the most part) but they usually stay close to the hub in order to study - so you can always go visit (altho your more of a distraction than a help). but honestly, you say it like it's the end of the world and it's not... it's two months of studying/hard work on their part - two months of patience & miss you on our part and a lifetime of better income/more stability/change of pace for the relationship. not to mention that it really does spice up the relationship when they get back home because you/he missed being together so much. most couples don't get the chance to spice it up like we do with the lifestyles we live... so look at it as a glass of milk half full instead of half empty...you have to think of it kindof like "everyday is a move up the ladder" and it only gets better and in time, you'll be doing the same thing us long timers do and you'll say "no sweat!" plus, you can always use it as "me" time and get to know yourself again - gain new strengths, do new things that you've been wanting to do.. better yourself so that when he gets home, he's more than a happy camper because you were able to live "without him" for a period of time! not to mention that it might actually freak them out some because you WERE able to live without him! the mark of a strong woman (who can hold her own when/if she has to) is something every man wants. and you always have to remember -> at your lowest times, you can only go up! | I know it's not the end of the world, but it's soemtimes hard to realize that when It's all still so new. I am having to basically learn who I am all over again. Yeah, sometimes it's not that bad, but there is never a time that I would not rather him be home. Krisit and Roz, I have mucho respect for you two, not to mention all you other ladies who do this and love it. I can't wait to get there soon myslef. Hopefully it's right around the corner for me. Every day gets better, I know this because today is 100 times better than it was in October! Hip hip hoo-ray! | Usually the chief pilots are pretty understanding when it comes to stuff like that so if he doesn't have your wedding day off initially, I'm sure the chief pilot will help him re-arrange his schedule. Where have you guys planned to go on your honeymoon? |

you know what is sooo nuts,,, Bill has already gone in to see either the chief or assistant chief and it was unsuccessful,,,, basically told him to bid and see what happens,,,, makes it difficult for me to relax during this already stressful time. All i can do at this point is keep my fingers crossed. *changed it for ya! Kristie

Don't tell management when you really need a day off. Try and bid for it, but don't freak if you don't get it. That's what sick calls are for! (I'm not kidding.)
