Can you trade shifts with the other bartender(s)? Or are they pretty happy that they're getting a lot?

Have you kept records of the discrepancies? If so,I would have a frank discussion with the manager (after researching other employment options). Why are they not honoring the agreement? After they hem and haw, ask them other pointed questions. Is the other person male? You wouldn't want to think that they are discriminating against you because you are a woman, would you?

Jsut some random thoughts...

bartending is a commission type of job right?

cuz if it's commission, then it's a lot bigger deal and you should start keeping notes!

it's tipped - depending on where you work.

when I worked at a country club, we split the tips for the parties we worked at the end of the month. If it had an open bar or even a paid bar and we were cocktail waitresses at the time (IOW - they order a drink and we go to the bar and pick it up) we go to keep any cash tips they give us. Bartenders did too.
