A happy surprise phone call from ATL!

Bill was just starting to think about listing for a flight to commute in for his New Year's trip this afternoon (commuting in the night before, yuck) when his cell phone rang.

It was a 404 area code, which is ATL. Rule #1 is that you never answer your phone if the caller ID is unavailable or is the area code of your company HDQ, so he let the voice mail get it. Turns out because of his trips earlier in the month he ended up being over-projected for the month. They had to drop his New Year's trip or he would have gone over the cap! So instead of commuting in to work, he gets to stay home and play with his new computer.

He originally thought he was bidding into a move-up line with New Years off, but EasyBid (the bidding program he uses) messed up and his move-up had him working New Years.

dontcha just hate when easybid does that?

but yea for crew scheduling being on the ball BEFORE Bill left for work! there was one time, not too long ago, when crew scheduling called AFTER Doug left for ATL for his trip and when he got to ATL, checked voicemail, found out his trip had been completely cancelled and he had to fly ALL the way back! that's an 8 hr day on a plane for him with no pay!!
