| Aw guys! Thanks so much! Sorry I just dropped that post on here the other day, and then disappeared. We had to go out of town. Thank you all for the congratulations! I know I need to get you some more photos! I'm dying for those to come in. So, some funny stories from the wedding week... the saturday before the big day, we were on a little mini-vacation to escape all the wedding stress. Nothing big, just flew up to Door County, Wisconsin. (Very relaxing place, btw, if you ever get the chance to go.) I was out for a jog and SPRAINED my freaking ankle. I couldn't believe it. It ended up healing (mostly) for the wedding day, but I had to wear an ace bandage with my heels when I went out for my bachelorette party in Chicago. I kept trying to tell everyone, "Forget what you heard... cankles are HOT!" You guys may not realize this yet, as I haven't posted a lot on here, but I'm a huge dork. ![]() So then, on the wedding day, I was going down the aisle and my gown started to unzip! The seamstress forgot to put the eye-hook back on. It held up through the ceremony, and I finally found a safety pin around 9 pm that night. Unbelievable. My favorite "screw up" from the day... DH and I decided to have my brother perform the ceremony. (Much to my Catholic parents' chagrin...) He's not an actual minister of the "cloth", per say... more of the internet. Have you heard of the Universal Life Church? If you google it, you'll see they have a site where any one can become an ordained minister. DH and I thought it would make the ceremony the most personal to have someone so close to us perform it. He wrote a beautiful speech about our relationship, and it all went great. He introduced us, "Ladies and gentleman, I present to you Mr. and Mrs. Madlibs!" ... but then completely forgot to say, "You may kiss the bride." DH and I just started to walk back down the aisle, when we heard groans and noises in the crowd. Something didn't feel right, but it honestly didn't dawn on EITHER of us. Thankfully, someone shouted out, "WELL! Kiss her then!" and the above photo is the result of that. Who in the world forgets to kiss at their wedding???? Man. We really are idiots. |
