Default Re: Well, back to "alone time"

Well, my "alone time" is just starting...

I am SO excited that my husband just got hired for his first professional pilot job... but I am also feeling sad... We have been together SO MUCH lately, so it will be a BIG change! Also, we have the added bonus that I have a crazy schedule as well. I answer 911, so we work 4 12-hour shifts that always change. I work two days from 7am-7pm, then 2 nights from 7pm to 7am the next day, then I have 4 days off. (On my first day off I actually get off of work at 7am) So, I work one week Mon-Thurs, next week Tues-Fri, etc. With two CRAZY schedules to deal with, I don't know what's going to happen... Time will tell...

Anyhow, after I get off of work tomorrow at 7am, I am driving to San Francisco to see him... The 5-6 hour drive will be great after working all night... but that's love, right?

At least I found some allies who know what it's like!

how in the world do you do that without breaking down due to lack of sleep?! your clock has got to be sooo screwed up from that!

I can't drive but maybe an hour or two before i start getting sleepy.. something about mom and dad being able to get me to sleep by riding in the car as a baby affected me that much! haha

drive safe and enjoy that quality time!!

Thanks... It'll be okay, his mom is also coming with as she is currently visiting from Brazil. She visits once a year, and it happens to be when he gets called for a job... Anyhow, we'll be okay.

Yeah-I worked for my local ambulance service for three years, a similar schedule to dispatching. Sometimes I'd cross my fingers and make plans for the day after a night shift, and of course, Murphy's Law would inevitably kick in. You just make it work!
I was going to see my bf this weeked via White Plains-to-Detroit-to-Pheonix-to-Minneapolis...and back. (Yeah, crazy, I know!) Woulda done it if I didn't have to apartment hunt! I plan to get LOTS of studying done at about 4 miles AGL in the next year...
