| Jetgirls Member | I met BF my freshman year here at EKU, he was a year older than me... I had actually dated his roommate/best friend for a few months the summer before that first fall semester and I'm pretty sure that's how we were first introduced. The next year, BF was asked to lead worship for the campus ministry we were both involved in (Campus Crusade for Christ) and asked if I would sing too. So I did... However, I started dating someone pretty soon thereafter and he was dating someone as well. I ended up getting really busy/ wrapped up in what ended up being a terrible relationship and stopped singing with CRU. He continued to lead worship and we'd see each other every now and then on campus. Last May he graduated and in July moved to Texas to work on getting his commercial. Before he left, his relationship was really off and on and he broke it off with her. At the same time, my relationship was really off and on and I finally broke it off with him. Matt and I had known each other for a few years by this point and we were always friendly to one another. Well, we'd correspond via facebook or AIM and for some reason I always got these tingly feelings. (I ignored them) So... one day this past November we were talking on AIM and he wanted to tell me this heroic story how the engine failed on him while he was flying a Cessna 152 at night and saved the day. He asked if he could call because it would be a lot to type out and I of course said ye knowing that we had been flirting like crazy online. What was supposed to be a 15 minute conversation turned into 6 hours! He tells me that when he got of the phone he thought to himself, "Man, I think I like Janine." So, the next night, he called again and we talked for another 6 hours! While he was in Texas, we were averaging over 120 hours a month on the phone. I saw him for the first time since we started talking over Christmas break... And the rest is history! I never knew that right under my nose was the man of my dreams. Matt is the man I was always looking for, but I always settled for something less because I thought my standards were too high and would never be met. He has exceeded every expectation. He is my best friend. Everything about him compliments who I am and vise versa. Never have I ever felt more like the woman I was created to be in my entire life. He inspires me to be beautiful, he constantly makes me laugh so much my stomach is aching, and he is the only person in the world who I could talk to non-stop about anything and everything from raising children to how much we love sour cream!

| I loved reading all these! I met my husband when I was a working flight attendant on a trip thanksgiving eve to dublin ireland ( he was a FO on the crew ) . I had just moved myself out of a third floor trap of an apartment in west chester pennsylania...exausted I barely made my trip. I was at one of those times in my life where I felt something had to give. I was dying to meet a guy that was kind, sweet and grounded but shared a desire for travel and adventure...a special kind of free spirit that I never found in guys i dated where i was. I was waiting at my gate for the crew to show and up cruised my Hubby-to-be. I thought he was adorable and kind...but a bit older than me. We were both kind of struck and just made a few silly jokes and small talk. He had a sincerity I picked up immediately..but I never really looked for love at work and always assumed people had families at home or whatever - you never know their story. We made it to dublin and it was thanksgiving day and the crew was throwing around plans for dinner. I still thought he was adorable when he asked me directly if i would be there...I said that I would see. Turns out I crapped out like a loser and stayed in. I was tired and though I felt something, I just felt maybe I was wrong about it. Can't explain, besides I am pretty conservative that way. The next morning he said to me directly on the van to the a/p that he missed seeing me at dinner. I just smiled and made some excuse about being tired from moving etc...that started us talking and I just found him adorable... Right when we were about to take off the flight attendant in the jumpseat across from me was saying what a cool f/d crew they were and she was so glad to be flying with them all month..and that she had another dublin trip the next day. As soon as I got home, I traded my schedule to be on the dublin the next day to see Steve again. I just had this feeling and we were both really lucky our schedules coordinated that way for once in this business... The next night same deal, the crew gathered and we made eye contact and he was blushing up a storm, as I am sure I was. He later admitted when he checked his crew list that he saw my name and was totally thrilled, but he felt I was way too beautiful for him. Of course, I thought he was just way too cool and everything else for me! We got to dublin and he again asked if I would be down for dinner and teased me about last time. He even called my room 2 hours after we got in to make sure I would be there -- very sweet even though I was sound asleep! he later told me he was too excited to sleep even after the trek over the pond. I for sure made it to dinner and drinks this time. My husband and I just had a spark and connection from the start. what I loved initially about him was how kind and respectful he was to everyone. he had a type of charm and way about him not found today it seems..even though we were completely different in so many ways; he had been married and through a super painful divorce, I had never even lived with anyone, and we had a decent age gap. But it just worked for us! The crew went out for indian food and he sat right next to me. i had way too much wine but not too much to remember him affectionately place his hand on my knee at dinner several times or help me with my coat. the next morning at breakfast he made a point to say how great dinner was and offered to take me flying sometime... or to help me study ( I was taking flying lessons here and there ) and we exchanged numbers. I can definitely say he is my greatest ' thankful for ' each thanksgiving ..and to this day my name and a special note he made hold a place logged in his log book from those trips. ![]() |

I met Fiance in 2000 during my first year at grad school (Purdue). He was also a grad student there. We met through POC (Purdue Outing Club), a group of students who enjoy adventuring in the outdoors: rock climbing, mtn biking, etc ... I thought he was HOT from day one. We were friends for those 4 years, but were always busy in different relationships. At one point I went out to get ice cream w/ Fiance and his buddy. His buddy was interested in me and wanted Fiance to come along to get his opinion on this new girl. After we went our separate ways that evening, Fiance told his buddy, "If you don't date her, I will!" We grew apart for a little bit. I moved to California and he took a job in Indianapolis w/ Rolls Royce Aircraft Engines. We got in touch via AIM in January 2005. I learned he'd chucked his desk job and moved to FL to start flight training! After 6 mos of serious flirting on AIM, he booked a ticket to CA. The sparks flew! We did the LDR thing from June 2005 till March 2006, when he moved out here after getting all of his ratings. Life is so much about timing and circumstances, as so many others' stories indicate. Sometimes the first time you meet a person isn't quite the right time, for so many reasons. I'm just super happy and fortunate that we had an opportunity to get back into each other's lives! ![]() | ||

| I met my dh when he was an E-4 stationed in Kentucky and I was a college student at APSU. We got engaged within one month and married within six months. We laugh now because he made $900 a month, whether he needed it or not. That was 19 years ago and we are still going strong. Tonya |

| I met my DF on Match.com, about a year and a half ago. I saw a picture of him and his cute smile and bald head...and was a goner! I sent him the first "wink" and we emailed for a month before we were able to meet (he was out of town training for Skyway)....totally awesome!
