Default I hate interviewing

So I moved with DH since he has now graduated and gotten a new job (CFI). As a result of it I have had to quit my job. Well trying to get a job back in the suburbs sucks. I have had 3 1/2 interviews (the 1/2 was informal). They were all for jobs that never got posted, it was just luck that I found out about them. And everytime I go I just get more depressed. Who would think teaching would be so difficult?
I started looking on-line yesterday for non education jobs. I have to find something. We are staying with my parents until I do, and I am ready to be on our own again.
AHHHHHHHHHHH I hate being unemployed for the FALL

yeah ... interviewing sucks.

I waited tables for 8 months until my job became available. I would leave my job now, except I don't want to go through the process of looking for a new job.

That sucks. My district in NH (3rd biggest city) just pink slipped 70 teachers in April (and para, sec. a few weeks ago). Luckily most of them have been hired back. One of our 7th grade social studies teachers has been looking now for 2 months (he got rehired today) but he had no luck. My other friend is trying to get a job near the Cape in MA....no luck either. It seems like budget cuts are killing most districts. Our school district had to cut 5% out of our budget this year (and probably another 5% next year).....and our contract is up in August....they are bascially offering a 0% raise and they want us to pay a lot more for our health insurance....and of course our taxes will increase! Anway.....

I hope you have some luck. Keep looking, something will pop up. If you don't have anything by the time school starts, keep and eye out that first week. You would be amazed how many teachers decide not to come back (move, better job) so you just never know

But this post hits home. I REALLY need to leave my job. I am depressed there and am getting panic attacks every morning! I hate interviewing... I don't think I'm very good at it. I have so much experience and a lot of skills, but I don't "sell myself" as much as I should. Most companies use behavior based interviews now, which I am used to, but I have a bad memory and can never think of examples to give!

I just need to go into business for myself... or work for Doug/Kristie Inc.!

I think I do ok with interviews, but I have a hard time getting the interview. I've never not gotten a job that I've interviewed for ... but there are many resumes and applications I've submitted and never gotten called about.

I think I need help with my resume and cover letter before I start applying again.

I would really like to just do a transfer within the company, but Eric wants me to hold out for the possibility of telecommuting in the position I'm in right now. I don't know if it's worth it though .... not if I'm bitter and angry every day because of stupid customers and co-workers who annoy the crap outta me.

if you odn't like your job now, why would you like it when you're telecommuting? there's no harm in putting feelers out even within the company and you can do it discretely, especially if they have a website that lists job openings -

I'm in the process of trying to come up with a cover letter right now for a company that seems really ideal to me. anyone know anyone or anything about Sachs Insights? (www.sachsinsights.com). My problem is that a lot of companies are hiring people with anthropology degrees but they all want 3-5years experience. how the heck am i supposed to get that experience if everyone wants it!?! ack!

I've checked the job postings on our website. Nothing I'm qualified for nor would be interested in.

What I hate most about my job is listening to my co-workers. If I didn't have to hear them, I think I would enjoy my job a lot more.

And if I can keep it long enough to get us to Colorado, then I can find a job once I'm there. It'll be good during the transition when DH's salary drops! And he doesn't want me to find a new job right now. I'm trying to stick it out.

I was given total control over a project today and that thrills me. I can focus my energy on this project and make sure it's done right this time.

But the more I think about transferring within the company, the more courageous I get and the closer I get to Bob's office to talk to him about it. I think I want to talk with one of the more "seasoned" employees to ask for advice and help refining what it is I want to do.
