| Admin/Owner ![]() | I have this GREAT idea....so, I figured i'd bring my idea up to DH and he just kindof took over with the brainstorming... granted, at the time, he was thinking more outside the box than I was.. but now, i just kinda feel like it's no longer "my" idea... he has a lot of good ideas on how to make my idea a reality, as do I, but now his ideas overpass mine because they're more logical and do-able than what i was thinking... so how do i go bout swishing this whole feeling of "no longer my idea" over the head and getting over it so i can make my idea come to life and move forward in plan and implementation? is it just me or is this like some sort of "girlie" emotion? it seems stupid when i think of it. hahaha |

| It's not just you. Every time I get an idea that Eric likes he takes over. Our first Christmas together I wanted to make candles for presents. I bought the stuff and figured out how to do it best and then he took over. He did everything I was so annoyed. Same thing happened when I bought a pumpkin to carve. He found the design then sat down without me and went to town. He does it every time I want to do something. I want to learn to make flan, so he watches me in the beginning and then takes over and it's his flan. I pouted one day and kind of walked away, letting him gently know I was annoyed. I think it's a man thing. My dad does it too.

| Admin/Owner ![]() | yea...last week, doug decided to update nonrevcentral... he did it all without me (didn't even contact me for overall look comment or anything) and still says "but it's OUR project" - sure doesn't make me feel like it's OUR project when he doesn't even consult me and just goes ahead and does it all. he said he just got a "wiff of inspiration" and went off running with it. still doesn't make me feel better! haha I let doug know that this is my project and it's something i want to do with minimal help from him simply because if i don't do it myself, i won't feel any accomplishment when it's finished. But in a sense, i feel like i'm crowding him out of it too and not giving him the opportunity to help me with it or offer input on making it better before it even starts...and we are supposed to be a team... but everytime i try to team up, he just goes off and makes it completely different from what i thought it would be (more his than mine and ours). I don't want this project going that route otherwise how am i supposed to feel - it won't be my baby anymore if the routes change...but i suppose that as long as the arrival and destination are the same, how you get there shouldn't really matter....what a pun!! haha |
