Default Jump to unread?

So, when I click on the bolded title of the post (indicating new posts) it just goes to the first post instead of the most recent unread one(s). Any ideas on how to jump to the first unread one?

Also, is there a way to tell the number of unread posts like on the old forum?

I am having the same issues. I am also unable to see the smiles...is that something that i need to adjust on my computer? I could see them on the old site.

I'll have to take a look at where the smiles are.. i don't have all the old ones in here yet, but the default vb smiles should be here...I'll check on all the tags as well...

ok, as far as the forum settings go - most of the settings can be set by each individual user...meaning that this forum is even more customizable than the old forum was. to edit the settings, you need to go to your "control panel" (it's the first menu on the bar above/at the very top of the forum).

once you go into your control panel, go into the "edit options" section of the CP (control panel)

from inside the options menu, find the "thread display options" and that's were you can change how you see the threads - whether their oldest to newest or newest to oldest...

you can also arrange what threads you see - whether they're a day old, a week old, a year old or all threads

does this help any?

ok, the stuff you showed helped other things I was wondering with, but not quite what I wanted specifically. I'd like the thread still to go from old to new at the bottom, but when I click on the thread, it automatically jumps to the new posts (ala JC or how PF did before)

Also, what happend to the PF Only forum?

Whats wrong with clicking on 'new posts' at the top of the page? Or am I being dumb and missing something here.

that's true.. there is the "today's posts" at the top of the main menu...but i do see skibum's point and I have a question into the VB forum about it... hopefully I'll hear something tonight/tomorrow.

ok, i think i might have fixed it just by moving to a different layout...at the top of each thread where there is an "unread' post - there's a link called "view first unread" and if you press that - it should take you right to the newest post....
