OK, so let's figure out a way to work this out.

Let's look at what is transpired. Sarah is a known and trusted member who feels excluded. She needs to feel included. But others feel put off being told to do so. Please remember that, across cultures, communication norms differ. Witness what is going on in the United Nations!

We don't have the world problems of the United Nations to consider. So, let's figure out a way to make this happen!

I, for one, would like to see more international information since DH will be forced to retire due to our regulation that forces him to retire regardless of his fitness for duty within the next ten years. Apparently, the international community gets it while the USA doesn't.

We have a lot to learn.

Dialogue is key.

Roz, I agree with you 100%, HOWEVER, I do think there are ways of communiocting one's feelings without disrespecting another's. Lurker, flat out said "yeah- It was snotty" as if saying,,,, well,, I guess we can all take it the way we want. I see how Tanya took it, an I am agreeing with Tanya. Although out cultures may be different, our level of maturity and respect shouldn't be. Maybe it would be nice for Lurker to initiate these threads for international topics and discussions if she feels excluded........ Just an idea.

I would love to see some international aviation posts. One of DH buddies got an interview with Cathay Pacific and we thought that was pretty exciting. We discussed jumping internationally over a few days, but DH has a pretty fond connection with good ole USA. I got to admit I would be pretty sad leaving this country. Finding out more about international companies and lifestyles would be really useful for at least a few of us.

Call me crazy, but I hear they still treat pilots like Pilots in some parts of the world...

Huh? I never said that I WANTED her to feel excluded or that I didn't want to know anything about how others countries do things. I think you're completely missing my point.

For the umpteenth time... I DON'T have a problem learning more about other cultures.... her approach was out-of-line.

And i'm sorry if you found my post to be too harsh, but I found her post highly offensive to a messageboard that I love dearly.

If she wanted something changed, she could've asked nicely.

Sorry everyone for creating drama...

I got one up there.. it's the most prevalent information in the industry that i can find.. the same RSS feed that Jetcareers uses (under Today's Headlines)...

so hopefully that'll add a bit more interest in the "world"

I don't have a lot of other World type links and if you have some you want to include, i'm all for including them! other than traveling outside the US, I just don't have much "world" information so i'm not comfortable speaking about airlines outside the US other than the one we're currently with and/or might have traveled on...The only countries i've been to thus far are western europe....

I'm all for adding more international to the site (both forum and site menu as a whole)...but without anyone starting threads to talk about it or providing links to learn about it, i'm kind of at a loss as to how to make that happen. I get like 3 hrs a night to work on things outside of work and doing the research on my own would take more time than i have to spend right now. If anyone wants to start up dialog or take the proactive approach (vs reactive), then please do.

honestly, what we really need is to start spreading the word outside of the US so that we can have initiated dialog that involves airlines or lifestyles outside of the US...Sarah, if you have any friends..even that might be a start!! I'm not quite sure how many of us are on the up and up as much as you are!
