| Jetgirls Member | I'm sure it would work on a private plane as well. The strap around the seat is something to secure the shoulder harness to. I don't think the actual seat tray plays any part in the security. If it did, it would prevent the person behind you from lowering their tray and that probably wouldn't fly with them. It's an interesting concept. If you have multiple kids, I can see how it would be easier than trying to bring along multiple carseats, esp. if you are traveling alone. Kim
