Isn't the liquid thing only if you are going into the UK? I just came back from Thailand and no worries there..even had tweezers, nailfile etc in my carry on.

Apart from being glad I left before the hassle there, I'm happy to say that I no longer need my passport to come in and out of hong kong..we have an e-channel where you just insert your 'smart id card' (like a chipped credit card) and it lets you through! Fab or what!!

Nope...all US flights, I think. I know DH can only bring them commuting if he is in uniform. Although he had training last week and didn't want to go in uniform so he hid his toothpaste in his pocket and walked through security. He said on the way back he left it in his luggage and they didn't say anything

FYI for everyone here is a list from TSA on yes and no stuff. http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtrav...ted-items.shtm

Well thanks to everyone's advice and the slight lift on the liquid ban, my first non-rev trip went off without a hitch. I just got home and boy does it feel good to be home. I actually was able to get on every flight I wanted, except for one, but that was just a chance to be on Ben's plane, but it was over booked, so I just came home instead of flying an hour away and driving back. So all and all a good trip....but its probably a bad thing i got spoiled on my first trip, at least i know it won't always be that easy. Thanks again for the adivce!
