Default Vegas or Reno?

I was looking at package deals and found a couple to Vegas for super cheap and to Reno. I have been to Vegas a bunch but never Reno....Our friends have been to Reno and said we would need to rent a car? We are just planning on going for 2 nights... I'm not sure which one to pick, what would you guys suggest?
Thanks!!

I say Reno. You've never been. You can go see it and say "been there done that." I've been to both. Reno is much more intimate and lower key. And the Truckee River runs right through town and there's a beautiful cute little park built up on the banks. You can watch kayakers surfing standing waves in the rapids.

Vegas- no question.
I went to Reno once and it was a mini Vegas. There is much more to do and see in Vegas!

I think we will do vegas since we can't pass travel because dh is on ltd I have to look for deals where I can find them! But its airfare and 2 nights in a hotel on the strip for $200!! (of course this is also the reason that dh gets paid like he does, double edged sword I guess)

For sure Vegas. I was born in Reno, it's blah. I was in Vegas last week and enjoyed the chocolate pastry shop and other things to see in the Belagio, all free.

Vegas. I think Reno is more difficult to get around. There is less going on and it's closer proximity to the river means that the weather is often really nasty. Instead of just the terrible heat, there's terrible heat AND humidity. Ick!!

Plus... You can get so many good deals in Vegas! Just check out the hotels' websites. So many are giving away gas cards, too!
