Default Headed to ATL

I LOVE Atlanta! There is always something to do, at any given moment.
Next week, 6/25, I'm headed there just for one night with the kiddos. DH gets in from his trip real late and will have to spend the night.
So, I thought it would be nice to take the kids earlier in the day and do something, anything. Even if it just to go swimming at the hotel pool. (After all, a room is being paid for by US)

I've been wanting to go to the World of Coca Cola. Who has been there? Would it be too crazy for me to take the two boys and the baby?

The closest hotel I found to the WOCC was the Hyatt and it is close to the airport too since dh does have to get a shuttle from the airport at midnight.

Anybody in ATL and want to get together?

So close, yet so far away. You had me looking at my calender, but I really can't do anything in the middle of the week. Geez, I would have loved to met a fellow jetgirl, esp another in the Republic family.

The World of Coke is long ago in my memories. I remember lots of Coke signs and adversting stuff, not sure how entertaining that would be for kids. But I also remember the Coke tasting rooms! We spent forever in there tasting every single type of Coke drink from across the planet. They really don't seem to mind that you taste every single one, so take your patience and let the kids try them all!

Have a wonderful trip!

Hmm, maybe I better re plan my activity! Too much coke could have them bouncing off the walls!
Kind of reminds me of the M&M store in Vegas. I was so jumpy after eating all kinds of chocolate! lol

Brenda- My inlaws are there, BIll crashes with them when he has to go up early or what not, we are there quite often. Not sure what you are wanting to spend money wise but the Georgia Aquarium recently opened and its AMAZING,, tuns of fun for you and the kids, Im sure they would love it., With it being the summer though, Im sure its gonna be crowded. And there is always the Atlanta Zoo. THe World of Coca Cola isnt a bad idea either,,just expect it to be crowded, I THINK it might be free. Too bad its not a weekend,, Id meet ya there, a very short 50 minute flight for me!

Thnks Jo, I've been there a lot. My friend used to have box seats to the braves and I would go to every home game. There is a game that night, I believe.
The aquarium is nice, kids loved the behind scenes too, only problem with that is when you buy the tix, you kind of have to specify what time you will be there and if you aren't there at that time, you lose out. Way too much money for uncertainty with non reving, you know? Since we aren't driving, I just want to do something simple.

The zoo is great! Kids and I have a list of zoos we need to go to and check them off. How many kids have the capability of doing that? lol We're trying to get to 100, so that can use that for William's 100 days of school project. We're only at 60 Hey, if that doesn't work we have our plane stubs! lol

Brenda-
We haven't made it to ATL yet, but I have done some research and if I remember correctly isn't there a Children's Museum next to the Aquarium? Also, near the Coke museum and the aquarium is the Olympic Centinnial Park. Check the web for park information- I seem to remember reading a lot of information on summer activities at the park. The kids and I were excited to read that there are Geo-Caches hidden within the park, so if you are a geo-cacher there are hidden treasures there.

Have fun. If we didn't already have sheduled plans for this date I would have joined you. We are all really wanting to go to ATL.

I was living in Atlanta before moving to Dubai.

The coca cola museum was renovated about a year ago and they have added a few things. They have a 4D theatre now with a very cute story......

Thanks, I'll have to look into it a bit more. I think the kids would even be fine just going and swimming. I'm not sure how brave I am to take all 3 kids with me ALONE doing activities.

if you need a rental, try e-z car. they have airline discount beyond their cheap-o rates and usually you can get a pt cruiser for $20--depends on the demand/season/day
